realmarcha
Hello Everyone!I am going to try my hand at orbs. I am wondering, if you use fragrance in the orb, will it scent a room using a tealight, or light bulb? Or are orbs basically used for decoration? As you can see, I am a real beginner with this project
Stella1952
I scent my orbs and hurricanes, which have a nice cold throw when unlit. When the tealight warms the interior of the orb, it enhances the throw of the scent even more.

Donita
I don't normally scent my orbs or hurricanes because you have to dump the wax back into the pot and you are stuck with that scent......so I just use scented tea lights or votives. Stella's way is stronger....but it just depends on what you are trying to achieve. There is no wrong or right way (smile) Donitaps....I do a lot of beeswax candles, so I like to keep the natural scent of beeswax....you can scent it but I usually don't. Stella1952
Donita, you are soooo right about having "leftover" scented orb wax... In fact, I have a BUNCH of that... Which is fine if one intends to use the same scents over and over, but if you make/sell a lot of these, as Donita has, you would end up with a LOTTA leftover scented wax!If there is ANYONE who knows orbs and hurrricanes inside and out, it's Donita. Hers are simply awesome!

realmarcha
Thank you to all who have answered my post. Looks like I will not be fragrancing the orbs, but will fragrance the tealight, or votive. I hate to waste anything, and have done so many times testing candles...just makes my heart ache. You are all FANTASTIC people to know.A special thanks to Donita who has taken her time to email me and answer my questions. If you need orb instructions, order Donita's tutorial...it is very informative, you cannot go wrong.

Donita
Thanks for the great vote of confidence.....I remember when I tried to do them for the first time and I did the dip in and dip out technique .....it sucked. I gave up. Then someone on CT told me how to do it and then it worked. Took some practice to get it right but finally I learned. There is usually a better way to do just about anything.I just took four pictures of my incredible fried green tomatoes. I finally figured out that one after many years. When I am making candles or whatever, I still have to eat....so thought why not take some pictures....I will slip them into some tutorials just for fun. I used to turn those puppies out like muffins...lolsigh, but I had to move on to other stuff:D I shall return to that stuff at a later date.
