So my regular soap I make it bubbly, but I've been asked for a real bubbly one for wedding shower favours I have to make....Any suggestions on what I should use, or if you know of a recipe, or %'s of certain oils to obtain a real bubbly bar? All help is appreciated!! Thanks!

OK so I came up with a recipe, with all your help.

The conditioning is 57 (45-80 is satisfactory for soap), bubbly lather 29 (14-33 higher Bubbly numbers will tend to produce a foamy, fluffy lather rather than a creamy lather), creamy lather 31(16-35 is satisfactory for a creamy lather)

Here is what I am thinking. The higher the number for a creamy lather, the less bubbles or foam. My # is very high on the scale. Any suggestions to lower the creaminess to the soap?

Over on another forum we've been discussing a 100% coconut oil soap superfatted at 20%. I finally made some and KAZOW!!!! Bubbles out the wazoo and NOT drying. And white - very white - which may be appropriate for a wedding (maybe) LOL!

Give it a go!

(I soaped with a 35% lye solution at RT and with melted and cooled oil with no difficulty)

I have some coconut oil soap superfatted to 15% and it is bubbly, pure white, and hard as a rock. It would probably mold very well, and there are beautiful molds available which would work well for weddings.

I've also heard that sugar added to the lye water will increase lather, I think 1 tsp ppo. I haven't tried it, but plan to, as I also like bubbly soap.

the best thing to do is probably post the recipe you are considering using so people can post adjustments that may be needed.

WOW! I've got a s### load of coconut oil sitting around. I've been thinking about this. Is it not drying because of the 20% superfatting?
