  1. wow, this is beautiful!!!!! Great job. Whipped soap would do this too. I pipped whipped soap on my soap cupcakes. I have to try it. Thank you for posting!
  2. me toooooooooo. I'm going over to kangaroo Blue right now! Thanks for posting Asheebeans.... is FNWL's scented?
  3. I only know of 3 sources. Does anyone know of any (or provide) professional services for label printing. I am using Adobe Illustrator and I have been using label factory w/ my color laser printer. I am unmotivated because I have to print them myself as well as crop, cut, peel... ugh. Does anyone own a Primera and provide Extreme Water Resistant CLEAR labels? Labels by the Sheet is limited in their clear sizes. I've heard that Sticker Diva provides excellent service but she only carries one clear size. lightning label... YOW! I don't exactly need 100 labels of each style. Does anyone have any information?
  4. Very nice! I love it Vertically Enhanced. I have both photoshop and illustrator on my laptop. I am thrilled but haven't touched them in depth yet. I can't wait to come up with a solid idea for my labels.
  5. this is correct. i am not insured yet.
  6. If I remember correctly (this was in 2005 or so) it costed me $175 w/ NYS. I didn't go through an attorney. It was a very simple process. I went to the licensing office, filed, they gave me what I needed as well as a receipt then I went to news paper of the county I would be running my business out of to run my articles of formation? (forgot what it's called).... I believe it ran for 6 weeks then It was all set. SMLLC's are truly the best.. you don't have to worry about all the hoopla w/ filing separate or anything. LLC's are looked at as sole proprietors when filing taxes. NYS nixed the annual $100/per member fee for single member llc's. I'm glad they did that...
  7. Has anyone ever made liquid laundry soap with just coconut oil, borax, glycerin and baking soda? I want to make a batch to see how it turns out... I have a few year old shredded coconut soap that i can use too...
  8. I'm contemplating.. really hard. I love my logo but I haven't necessarily been "branded" yet... If I had a few more dollars to throw around I think I would be more apt to do it.
  9. I am considering a name change. Has anyone done this before? I am not necessarily "branded" yet (although I've been in bus. for about 4-5 years) and my customer base will follow as well as me getting more customers... Has anyone thought about this?
  10. I was able to play around w/ Illustrator CS4.. it seems pretty easy to use and save a file to mail to a label printing company. Hopefully I will able to help someone w/ this information when the time comes.:smiley2:
  11. I just saw this! Although 2 years later.. I thought it was a great segment. I love the accent!
  12. Thank you both for your response. I think I am getting the hang of it (w/out even having the official program yet )... Mike messaged me back on youtube and he said his tutorial on Business cards would help w/ this.. I can't wait to play around with this when I get home! http://www.youtube.com/user/mlwebco#p/u/36/BwBTKVU4pYM VE, I love that drip text! Did you finish the logo? I'd love to see it. :0) I've also forwarded that link to my notes so I can refer back to it... thank you for sharing.
  13. I found a youtube channel that's a little helpful. I design and print my own w/ labelfactory and my HP color laser printer but I want my labels to pop and not have to worry about weather they will be water-proof labels or they will smudge somehow... but here's the channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/mlwebco
  14. lol... exactly Misty. I see people have viewed this thread so I guess everyone has been hoping the same thing. I wanted to see some recent activity on this topic. I haven't even gotten the program yet (I believe it's on it's way.. I hope)... Oh, just scrolled. Candybee are you using Avery w/ Lightning labels?
  15. Ok, I am thinking about getting a label or 2 printed professionally. What is the ease of doing thing w/ both Adobe programs? I'm gone through a few threads and it looks like people are having problems converting files, etc. Does anyone get their labels printed from any companies and use these programs?
  16. Thank you all so much for the lovely comments. I enjoyed making them (as soon as I figured out how to flip them rightside out, etc.).... :smiley2:
  17. Black Apple Doll (go to Martha Steward for pattern) and ithinksew's cutsie baby boots... I've gotten requests to make more! (these are me 2nd pair...
  18. Has anyone tried the oil infusion?
  19. this looks delish. Much like vanilla ice cream dipped in the cherry coating..... well that's what it reminds me of. Now I want an ice cream cone, thanks. *s*
  20. What about seprate Recipe's? I'm trying it now so I'll post back. I'm trying to make a double poo bar.
  21. Thank you Texasbrat! I tried...*s* I'll post the Elvis pillow next. My son loves Elvis and MJ... anything before his time (both of our times really) and broadway-esque movies...
  22. Sorry, It's a pen/pencil cup. I should have thrown a pen in it or something. It's sitting here on my desk... I attached a piece of cardboard on the bottom and glued some felt on the bottom before making the "corset".... The 2nd thing is a laptop Lap Pad (the description of what it is, is under the last photo)..... Just sit it on your lap and place your laptop on top (or a meal or something).... It was my first sewing project so....*l*
  23. I wanted to play with these new toys so I put together some quick items to try after work one day. I was determined to use my new sewing machine. (I've never sewn on a machine in my life...*l*) I destroyed my entertainment center because it was a catch all - the TV is in a nice area sitting on my metal file cabinet... so I kept the remnants (2 shelves and the glass door I wanted to try my hand at staining).. with one of the shelves I did this: inside pocket - sloppy because I didn't know what I was doing. wasn't sure it would fit, but it did! my sewing was horrible. It was constructed at night (I'm a morning person) and like I said, I have no idea what I was doing...*l* staples some rope on top and added strip of ribbon because fabric came up too short... added a pretty bow on the side just because. My Laptop Lap Pad... perfect size! I have another pc of shelving so I may make another...
