Hang tags vs. Labels

Recommended Posts

How many of you use hang tags and how many use labels on your container candles? I have always done hang tags cause I figured that the candle would look better burning without a label stuck to the jar (and since I do soy it would be easy for folks to clean out the jars to use for other things and not have to mess with scraping a label off) To make my hang tags I buy the cheap business card blanks at Walmart and use my Printshop program. Never had a problem with lining things up on the card and I print my burning instructions on one side and my info on the other.

I use hang tags..but then again, I have too. Wouldn't make sense to slap on a label on my gel creations! :laugh2: I do what you do too...buy the cheapy biz cards from Walmart and create my own. I always stick a warning label on the bottom of the candle too, as well as printing it on the back of my hang tag.

Knowing myself from a consumers point of view, I toss hang tags, usually on the first use. Make sure your contact info is on a sticker somewhere on the candle, like the bottom, or you'll struggle with repeat business. Just a thought...

It depends on the size and shape of the jar on what i'll use. I usually have a 2x4 label on my large round container candles and also have a candle poem on a hang tag with a charm and tied on with ribbon. On smaller candles i use hang tags.

I hate labels on jars. I would never buy a candle with a huge label stuck to the side of the jar. However, I can see the benefits from a business point of view.

I use hang tags - cause I hate labels and because I like the look. I am proud that my candles are handmade. I want to keep the handmade look. I use cardstock, print my labels and then cut them down to the size I like. The back of my hangtag is a gift tag and I have the price very small at the bottom so it can be cut off for gift giving.

I print my own warning labels with my company info on them. They go on the bottom of the jar.
