  1. I don't even make soap and I know that those are bars that are cut from a log. btw - BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!
  2. Let me repeat myself. I really think it would help your business name to be more readable.
  3. I would move the lighter blue to under your business name. It will make it easier to read. I don't think it will affect the overall look of the label. Dat
  4. I always double wick anything over 3" wide. It gives a nice even burn and is definitely worth the trouble. Sliver - they are very nice jars. I love them
  5. I hate labels on jars. I would never buy a candle with a huge label stuck to the side of the jar. However, I can see the benefits from a business point of view. I use hang tags - cause I hate labels and because I like the look. I am proud that my candles are handmade. I want to keep the handmade look. I use cardstock, print my labels and then cut them down to the size I like. The back of my hangtag is a gift tag and I have the price very small at the bottom so it can be cut off for gift giving. I print my own warning labels with my company info on them. They go on the bottom of the jar. Dat
  6. Taylored Concepts. Their Taylored Coffee is the strongest truest coffee I have ever tried.
  7. I dropped my 8 oz and only carrie 12 and 16 ounce. The 16 ounce is a much better buy. I didn't make enough on the 8 ounce. I tested the waters long and hard before I dropped the 8ounce completely though. Test it out, don't bring ANY of your smallest. See if you still see the same amount. I do. People always buy the cheapest (least amount to spend). Your repeat customers are the ones who will start looking for the best deal. If you don't want to drop the small one then offer 2 for sales on the larger candles. Dat
  8. add blue that will take the lime away. In the future use blue and yellow. Equal amounts of blue and yellow make a wonderful true green. If you need true green but just a really light version (like watermelon) use less dye but still in equal parts. If you are using the blocks, put a some in a small bit of wax, let that set up then break pieces off. That will dilute the original color for you. Find a good color wheel. You can make any color of the rainbow with just blue, yellow, red and black. Dat
  9. I have a friend that us a very successful At Home America consultant. Her philosphy is that if there are 2 vendors then people split their money. Say Jane has $50 to spend, she will most likely spend $25 with each vendor. She might spend all $50 with one, but it is highly unlikely that she will spend $100. Soooo..... you might do well to have it yourself unless the people you are inviting are big spenders. She still does parties with more than 1 vendor, but she encourages the hostess to invite double the guests. You could share your customer lists with another craftsman if you know someone. So they give you their customer list to invite and next time you give them yours. It would broaden your base. Also, as door gifts you could pass out a discount certificate to your friends products. That way you would be promoting her without her being there. I agree - invite everyone you KNOW plus a few and have incentives for bringing a friend. If people bring a friend along they get 2 entries into the door prize drawing etc. Dat
  10. The last one you posted is good, but I still think the tag line and web addy should be in a boring font like Arial Narrow. It will put more focus on the logo and let the scent stand out. Right now all the fonts are competing. I do like the box around the scent, the last color was a bit bright, but if it is on a candle that color (or close) it will not jump out as much. Dat
  11. poop! I absolutely HATE labels on the jar. I have always done hangtags and love the look - makes it look handcrafted IMO. But this jar and hangtags just do not work well together. There is not much "neck" left with the lid on and the the tie for the tag affects how the lid closes. No good solution!! Thanks for your input - even though you are the bearer of bad news Dat
  12. Ok, new territory for me. I am finally switching to labels instead of hangtags. My jars have a metal lid with a slight swell to it. Will a round label stick without puckering? Anyone had any luck? These are my jars.... Thanks! Dat
  13. I like the first better than the 2nd. If you want to use the different fonts for different scents then how about matching the tag line with the font used on the web addy. The 2nd logo the fonts were too busy. I think your logo should have a unique font and all the other descriptives should have something different. Dat
  14. Man I hate that for you. I live near a large city and have 4 suppliers that I can drive to in less than 1 hour. All of them have showrooms and welcome customers into their space. I am sure that the supplier that does not allow pickups has an issue with their insurance or their facility. Perhaps they have their supplier's labels on everything and don't want that information to get out. Good luck - I love living near a huge city! Dat
