dpowell Posted January 23, 2007 Share Posted January 23, 2007 I use IGI 4630. Once the wax is cooled completely I test the jar. There is no reason that I can see to have to "cure" with that. ragnarock47 Posted January 23, 2007 Share Posted January 23, 2007 The 4630 is straight paraffin?From reading posts about waxes over the last few weeks, I understand that the difference in cure times is greatly affected by the type of wax; soy needs lotso curing, paraffin doesn't.Can anyone pipe in about 6006 cure time since there is a bit of soy in there? my3lilrugrats Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 I let my candles cure for 18-24 hours..if I just want to see how it burns, I'll try it right away..but usually I wait so I can really see (or smell) the scent throw more accurately. If you are testing within a few hours, you are getting a different result than you would if you waited a few days. This applies to both how the candle burns and how it throws. I've found that with various scents, the cure time makes a difference in one that I couldn't detect a scent throw the day after and the difference in that same candle a week later with the scent throw being much stronger. works for me:cheesy2: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
