  1. AHAHAHA:laugh2: Too freaky for me to use but cool looking soaps!
  2. I would never have thought of that Thank you..I'll check it out.
  3. I agree..too much fo could be the problem. I wish I could help but I don't use that wax or those wicks..I use eco, lx and cd wicks.
  4. I'll be moving because we just bought a new house. We are moving in on Aug 10th. It's pretty sad when 1/2 my oversized 2 car garage is candle supplies..LOL Good thing is that the jars are kept in their boxes..I have tons of lbs of wax slabs in their boxes so alls they have to do is be picked up and moved. All my other candle supplies fo's, wicks etc and stored in those rubbermaid carts on wheels or totes. I can't wait to move!...there is a big bonus room in the basement that is all mine for use as a candle workshop so I don't have to takeover the kitchen and dining room anymore. My hubby knew better too because as soon as he saw the room he said, o.k. this room is totally yours We all get what we want..My husband will have his own office off our bedroom, the kids get the conservatory to play in and I get my candle room. We all win. I've been away from candle making since April because of showing our home and packing so I'm so itching to melt some wax! I totally agree...my first priority is unpacking my candle supplies!!! :highfive:
  5. am I asking a silly question and no one wants to tell me? or doesn't anyone know? LOL
  6. I currently make candles but want to try some fun m&p soaps for my boys. Does anyone know where I can find the m&p soap mold from the tutorial on this site for the chunk m&p soap. It's a shallow rectangular mold with 2 sides? I looked everywhere online and can't seem to find it. TIA, Jenn
  7. I agree..the goat milk soap looks nice and creamy!!!
  8. Awesome job! They look fantastic!
  9. I won't have anything in my pot either. Our house has been up for sale so I haven't been able to make anything since about May which is killing me but it's messy and I have to have my house spic and span at every moment so I had to stop and pack it all away...my garage is half full of candle supplies. We're moving into our new house next month, where I'll have my own room dedicated to candle making so I can jump back in...I can't wait:yay:
  10. I agree..if there is a lot of hang up on the sides the wick size is too small for the container. If it's only a little bit then let it burn down more...sometimes when my candles have a tiny bit of hang up..by the time it's burned longer it's all gone.
  11. I buy my jars from the jar store...I use the metro jars and the rectangular ones. I love the quality..nice thick jars!
  12. I had that problem once when I tried the wax dye chips instead of liquid..my candle which was green turned a yucky yellow color on top when it hardenend...so I've stayed with my liquid dye and never had a problem.
  13. I mix my scent and dye in my presto pot..and then when I'm done with it, I wipe it clean and then run some clean wax through the pour spout to get any of the previous scented wax out.
  14. I have no idea..because I can't distinguish the smells in it..but I'm going to try the cashmere from Just Scent..thanks for the suggestion!
  15. I have an impulse sealer also..I had no luck with shrink wrapping until I got one.
  16. I love Downy's new Cashmere and Silk softener and would love to make a candle in that scent..does anyone know where I could get a fo close to this scent??
  17. Well, I'm not sure yet..I just got done making margarita scented (my favorite) candles of every type! My dining room table is completely covered in jars, tarts, clamshells etc....so I'll probably spend saturday shrink wrapping the votives, tarts etc and labeling them all. The weather is stinky here..it's in the 30's and sleeting. It's horrible! Sunday, I won't be doing anything candle related..my son Rorey has horse back riding lessons at 4 ..and my son Noah has t-ball at 11. I'll be the taxi driver all day sunday..lol.
  18. Labels by the sheet from what I see sells the labels, printer, cartridges for the same price as Primera does. There are other websites though that sell the stock labels cheaper but for the custom sizes I haven't found anyone who sells them other than the manufacturer.
  19. I was the one who bought the primera printer, LX400. I got it a couple weeks ago and just used it to do a custom order, last week I had for a sweet 16. It took awhile to get the print setting right to print on the size label I was using perfectly..we wasted quite a few labels BUT I saved the print setting for that size so next time it'll be no problem. I must say it printed beautifully! I will take a picture of the candle I made so you all can see..but first I have to charge my battery for my camera..lol. As far as the labels..that is where it got expensive for me. The sizes I needed from them were on there custom die list (ones they've made in the past but aren't their stock sizes so I didn't have to pay the plate charge). If you buy labels off their custom die list they make you buy a minimum of 4 rolls in each size you want and each roll is about $56, so I bought 2 sizes which ended up being $448 BUT if you order their stock sizes which they list on their website, they're really cheap, unfortunately for me, none of them would work for my jars.
  20. I just bought one last week at the mall but I haven't tried it yet. I agree that the presentation isn't really quality. The lid doesn't fit on at all and the label is peeling off on the one I bought. I may make them just for family if I like them. I think that once you get towards the bottom the wood wick will just fall in the wax and be done...just depends on how far that is.
  21. Oh my goodness, I'm drooling over here..it looks so good! Awesome job!
  22. I use 4x6 polyolefin shrink wrap bags for my tarts and votives and they work wonderfully. I buy them off of ebay 500/$16.50 (w/shipping )from the shrinkwrapstore.com
