leashaann Posted November 28, 2006 Share Posted November 28, 2006 I got sick of using hot glue so I bought a twenty dollar box of glue dots. They are absolutely worthless! I only used about five of them. I wonder if I can complain and get a refund. Has anyone ever sucessfully returned something for a similar reason? StephD Posted November 28, 2006 Share Posted November 28, 2006 I did the opposite! I started out with the glue dots and then switched to my glue gun! I hate those glue dots. First they don't want to come off the paper they're on, then you gotta be extremely careful when centering the wick or the glue dots (at least mine) would stick to the jar when trying to move the wick, and then, my wick would end up floating in wax after I poured and the glue dot was on the bottom of the jar! lol Anyway, I didn't try to return them. ah-soy Posted November 28, 2006 Share Posted November 28, 2006 Give them to a college kid for posters (they can't use nails or pins in their walls)...use them to 'pad' breakables when shipping. It only took me one try to use these little buggers in candles. I too had floating wicks and wickless candles with glue dots on the bottom of the jar! Of course, it's better to be careful, and center the wick the first time. The other thing I like about them, is they wash out easily when I'm asked to refill jars. smokymountainraine Posted November 29, 2006 Share Posted November 29, 2006 I bought a little glue pot from Michaels in the floral department and love it! Use high heat glue. I just touch the end of wick to the glue and twirl it and stick it to the jar. It gives you a second to adjust if you need to. Why did I not try this a long time ago?
