soapandcandles
Would love some opinions on these two votive blend waxes!(or your votive blends you like)IGI 4761 One-Pour Embed/Votive WaxIGI 4794 Votive/Tart BlendI am looking for a wax that has a good liquid "pool" when it burns. Also, good scent throw too! I know, not asking for much LOL!I have been making votives for years with my one pour container wax JS 123 but it is so soft and sticky, but awesome scent throw and great liquid pool.Would love to be able to make nice shiny votives.Any suggestions MUCH appreciated Teri
Jcandleattic
I've used bothI really like the 4794. You do need repours on them, but they make a nice votive, with a smooth surface and a great scent throw. The 4761 is a one pour, but the scent throw is nothing to speak of (IMO) and the finish is not smooth. If you pour too cool (like less than 175) then you get jumplines, and it's just really ugly. I used to mix my container wax with the 4761 just to get a decent votive out of it, and figured, why go to all that trouble when the 4794 is so much nicer?I believe the 4794 will give you what you want in a votive.. Good luck.
Jane42
We use the 4794 and see no reason to change...we LIKE IT! It does give you a nice product and burns well.

terryb44256
i have to agree with Jcandleattic... I picked up the 4761 when my local supplier was out of the 4794... not only did i get jump lines but i had a harder time getting them out of the molds... sometimes leaving a chunk out of the bottom of the votive... and i didnt like the way the top looked and wanted to do a 2nd pour anyways... MaryinCary
Years ago when I started on this venture I tried both 4761 (HATED IT) AND 4794. I still use 4794 and always will. Terrific throw when used with quality FO's and wicked correctly. Always remember that your "liquid pool" or melt pool depends on the correct wick with your wax/FO combination. It seems 4794 wax is the only one to try!I have zinc 44-24-18 wicks that I will try.I am almost out of these, so it is a good time if there is a wick that works better with the 4794 wax.Any other suggestions for wicks for this wax? Thanks again everyone, I TRULY appreciate your help! After 7 years with the "sticky" wax I really need a new votive wax Teri
