  1. Thanks so much for the info. Will try and do more research
  2. I have been making candles for 4 years and would now like to try my hand at soap making. I would like to start with body wash and foot scrubs but know nothing about it. Need a little guidance on where to get recipies and also about product. Can anyone help me get started. Would love to be able to go to a class but have not had any luck with that in my area.
  3. Can anybody give me a wick substitution for CD16 - burning in J223 carissa tumbler
  4. Has anybody purchased or used the Maestro label designer that appears at the online label site? Looks interesting and convenient.
  5. I have been looking for a gift box for the tumblers and so far have not had any luck. Anybody have any suggestions? The best I have found so far is a 4X4X4 and what I really need is a 3X3X4 inch box.
  6. Where do you get your tumblers from, I can't seem to locate them that cheap. I live in New York and am willing to drive up to 2 hrs to get them.
  7. Try using CD wicks - 5 or 6 depending on the scent.
  8. Just received 7.5 oz tumblers and lids from the scented nest. Very expensive. Anyone know a wholesaler who sells them cheaper. Tumblers weren't too bad but the lids were $1.22 each. Just ordered 36 - want to try them out. Are they also known as madison jars? I see that Yes carries them - price looks good don't know about shipping though. Would appreciate any input. Ingrid
  9. I am planning on ordering the 8" bears from Bittercreek. I was wondering what size base you use to sit them on. I have the metal candle pans with a handle from C&S they are 5" in diameter. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. I am interested in getting into soap making and also making foot and body scrubs. I particularly would like to get into the organic and all natural. Is there a place that offers classes that I might attend.? I live in New York but am willing to travel to take courses. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  11. I was at a craft fair and saw jar candles where the jars ranged from small bulb to apothacary jars but was the same wick for different jar openings. He said that he got the wicks from wicks unlimited. Has anyone heard of this. It seems too good to be true - one wick fits all! Has anyone heard of this??? The wax was paraffin not soy.
  12. Connies Candles in Ohio used to carry it.
  13. we get our labels from online labels.com. The have their OL800TC which measures 2.5X1.563 - 18 labels per sheet. These fit our clamshells nicely with a little of the plastic framing the label. We use cream, I think they come in kraft I am not sure. Try them. We are very happy with the look and the quality of the label.
  14. I use J50 and 1.5oz pp of fo. I have no problem with the amount in the J50.
  15. I was at a craft fair this weekend and there was a person selling soy candles that when melted became lotion. Has anyone any idea of how this is possible?
  16. We ordered our labels from online labels for the clamshells - their OL800TC is the right size. No cutting just print your info on it. They size is 2.5X1.563 - 18 labels to a sheet.
  17. I see that many of you like GL's 70/30 wax and am wondering does anyone else carry that wax? I am in New York State and shipping from Texas will be prohibitive for me.
  18. What are you making? I use 4794 for my votives and use a CD5 or 6 depending on the fo I use.
  19. Good luck to you. Hopefully it will be a little cooler where you are. I find that in the real hot weather people are just not that interested in candles. Once the fall arrives business picks up quite a bit. Again, good luck.
  20. Nope, not yet. Hopefully soon. Thanks
  21. Yes I am sure it is paper towel,. When I was researching in this website about tp I also saw a paper towel decorated.
  22. Quite a while ago I thought I saw a picture of waxed paper towel and how it was decorated. I can't seem to find it when I search for it. does anyone know what I am refering to?
  23. I would try a CD18 - I use this for my apothecary jars when I single wick. If that doesn't work try a CD20. You may have to double wick and go to zinc wicks. Hope it works for you. Guess we shouldn't be intimidated by store candles because most of the time they do not stand up against most of the hand poured ones.
  24. Would love to see your wooden display. Thanks
