Christine Flapp
The balm is excellent but grainy. I did not sub anything. Does anyone know why this happened? Thank you.

Ann M
The balm is excellent but grainy. I did not sub anything. Does anyone know why this happened? Thank you.I have found that if you don't temper the soy wax and shea it gets grainy. I melt, heat and hold the soy wax, shea and avocado butter for 20 minutes. Then I pop it into the freezer for 5 minutes. Next I slowly add my soft oils and beat with a mixer for a minute, then back to the freezer for another 5 minutes. You will do this until it gets firm enough. I have made many attempts to stop the grains and this has been the most successful.Ann M
pebbles
Hi. I'm new to all of this and want to try this out for my daughter cause she suffers big time, but she's allergic to wheat & soy. Can anything be used instead of these two? Thanks
jeniryan
So for those of you that have attempted this recipe, do you prefer the soy or b/w?
Ann M
So for those of you that have attempted this recipe, do you prefer the soy or b/w?I prefer soy as it stays nice and creamy. Beeswax tends to get draggy feeling. I love the creaminess of soy.Ann M
