for those of yall that use J223, what wick do you find to gives you the best throw? right now i'm using CD8's but I was thinking about playing around with some different kinds. oh yeah, i only make 8oz jj's. tia.

You are going to get many different answers. However if you want to try a different wick other than the CD's...try the HTP, LX or Premier. Shucks, try the zinc some people love them.

Yup all the ones Stinger Butt mentioned throw like hell. Cotton core, paper core, ECO and RRD also work great in J-223!

what size zincs for a 8 oz jj?

It depends on your oil. With most of my oils a 44-32-18 works fine, but with some I have to use a 51-32-18. When I'm testing I always start with the smaller wick size first.

I use the 51 in the 8 oz and never have any problems - great hot throw and burns good.
