LauraInNY
I know this was talked to death before, but as that info is not available at this time, I'm gonna be a newbie (as that is what I am) and ask the question.... I know that you have to test and retest, but once you find a wick, wax and FO that works for you and you and your testers are happy with the results, how many additional times do you have to test it before it's sellable. Thanks for your patience... Luvcandletarts2
I am still in the testing phase of my 8 oz jelly jars. Be sure to test until you feel comfortable selling your candles. Remember .... if you want repeat business, keep on testing until you are really comfortable with what you are selling. JMO
realmarcha
I would test it during each season to see if your results now will be the same in the fall, winter and spring. Climate, location, etc. can play havoc with how a candle burns. As stated above, make sure you are totally comfortable with your product before putting it on the market for sale.It is hard for anyone to say how much more you should test since we all have a different comfort zone with how we want our products to perform. Me, personally, I am a perfectionist, so mine has to be absolutely "perfect", whatever that means Hope this helps some.
Michi
A lot here also state that you should do a tester when you get a new batch of wax or wicks, just to make sure. Other than that, if you've tested it and it burns the way you want it to, I think you're ready to send it out into the big wide world. jenniejr
I agree with the others. Once you have tested it to your satisfaction, and you are very comfortable with the idea of letting others burn it, then you're probably ready to sell. LauraInNY
Thanks guys. On the old CT forum there was a list of questions that it was good to have your testers check for. Does anyone have that list or the site that it came from?
Tallbabydoll
Ugh who was it that posted that sheet???????? Ebcandles maybe? Not sure though. In a post Alan said that he's working on getting the old board available as an archieve, so the threads will be available to read soon, at least most of the older ones will. I think I read that they had retrieved most threads that were posted up to May. I agree that every time you get a new case of wax, package of wicks, or another bottle of the fo you should burn a tester. Formulas change from time to time, bad batches of wax, etc. You just want to be sure not to send out a bad batch. To sell legally you need a DBA, Business licence, tax ID #, product liability insurance, and warning labels on each candle. HTH

Fire and Ice
I made those up for my testers four years ago and hoped that Alan would find the time to add them both to the sidebar. I don't think he did though. They are the questions for my testers. Sorry but I just don't have the time to post them this week.

The ones I just put up I mean? If so, thanks again! I've run across this a few times so far... things I saved and don't remember who posted them first I never dreamed the board would crash, I had just saved them for me. Well, and tweaked to first one, hope thats ok
