mterrell77
I made some different size pillars yesterday and everyone turned out with what looks like a hard white film over them all. I could actually take and scrape it off. I am using 1239 wax, I used 2 tbs stearic acid p/p, blue dye and, and 1 oz Blueberry f/o p/p. I poured at 160 into unheated molds. Does anyone know why this could happen? Thanks so much!Marie
Trish
Sounds like you got a rustic finish. If you don't want rustic, try pouring hotter...
Scented
Yep, sounds like it went rustic on you. Pour between 175-185 and that should do away with the white stuff.
Margaritamama
Many of us tried long and hard to get that white stuff.......
topofmurrayhill
Before they removed the wax pages for some reason, BCN used to have a photo near IGI 1239 showing a purple pillar with a beautiful layer of smooth white frost on it. Guess it works as advertised!Correction: the content has been linked differently now. It's still here. http://www.candlesupply.com/IGI1239.html
