ellajoan
I was in a candle shop over the weekend--the candles were the same jar I use (9 oz straight-sided) with soy (I use 464). We get 40-45 hours of burn time, but this candle seller said she got 70-75 hours with that same jar, claimed it was pure soy. Is that even possible? ellajoan
Does anyone get 70-75 hour burns out of 9 oz of soy wax?
Jenni Wix
Interested because the coconut blend I'm trying seems to go super fast. 😌

She may have used pure soy in the candle, meaning it was not a soy blend, but then added the additives. Just because she didn't disclose the additives, doesn't necessarily mean she didn't use pure soy to make the candle.
ellajoan
What type of additives? I specifically asked if they were pure soy and she said yes. I've tried Universal Soy additive and it's never increased my burn time (although I found out later that 464 already has an additive in it). Could be she added stearic, or some other additive. And as I said, she very well may have used pure soy as her wax, so her answer would be yes, even if additives were added. A pure soy candle and a 100% soy candle have different meanings. Or she could be lying about her both the wax and burn times. Did you purchase a candle and test it? ShelleyF
I made 464 wax melts and people said they lasted for 3 weeks burning every day. Family and customers. I don't have a long time to wait around curing so I went to paraffin. I will use up the soy I have though. But it seems like the 464 is amazing with burn time but not amazing with cure time lol Edited October 31, 2018 by ShelleyF Added info
