pita4294
Order the regional boxes from USPS.com. SO MUCH CHEAPER! I'm just going to round numbers here..I shipped 7 pounds of oil 2 weeks ago to CA for $9, a couple days ago 9lbs of oils to WI for $8 a couple days ago today I'm shipping 4lbs of oil to MO for $6..Priority Mail Regional A or B boxes! You have to wait a few days to get them and you can only print postage from USPS.com rather then Paypal..but to save a few bucks it's totally worth it!! HTH some of you
franu61
Hmm, That is interesting..when I wanted to ship something your way (from CA) the regional price was higher than flat rate. I always check regional but the only time it was less for me was when I was shipping within Calif. Weird!Fran
pita4294
Oops, maybe the $9 was parcel post! I don't remember..I just checked, it was TX not CA and it was $8. I'm trying to do too much at once right now! LOL Edited May 8, 2013 by pita4294 correction
SherriLynn
Interesting... my USPS charges higher rates as oils are considered hazardous... and costs a mint to ship. Could be my smaller PO with these guidelines or maybe they don't understand what hazardous is. I dunnoToo many hiccups with USPS lately, many substations have been closed,, causing delays. If you're shipping intra-state it might be ok. Edited May 8, 2013 by SherriLynn mis-spelling
annie123
I am not a 100% sure but I recall reading on USPS web site that they will not ship anything with a flashpoint lower than 171.
TallTayl
I am not a 100% sure but I recall reading on USPS web site that they will not ship anything with a flashpoint lower than 171.Not true. The DOT rules and regs for flammables and combustables are pretty clear. You cannot ship certain classes of HAZMAT via AIR, but you can ship most common fragrance oils, nail polish, etc. via surface using ORM-D labeling and proper packaging. The regs are tied to the flashpoints of the materials being shipped. http://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c3_018.htmPackaging appendix 3a. http://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52apxc_011.htmPackaging apoendix 3b. http://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52apxc_012.htmIf you're not sure, then don't ship it via USPS. Candybee
True or not-- not all USPS clerks are on the same page and the rules tend to vary from one office to the next. About the only thing you can do is print out the regs at home and take them with you to the PO.
