I LOVE my presto pot too!! I double boiled forever, once I started using the pot, I'll never go back!! It's sooooo much faster this way!! DH is going to spout mine for me as soon as I get the stuff, and I'm thinking about getting another so I can make tarts and candles and the same time!!

This wax is AMAZING!! Thank you so much Ravens for recommending it!!! I have yet to find an FO that doesn't throw, and throw well!!

I'm not sure about CA, but in WV you can only make $400 in a year without having a business license. Also, have you gotten insurance? It is a must have if you are selling products.

Spring is coming up, you should try Easter Bunny Burps, very fresh and clean, and Jelly Beans. Those are two of my favorites right now. Its so nice ordering 4oz for the price wed pay for 2!

Nope, 4633, I get mine from CMS. Its seems to be the wax I keep going back to with my candles, so I finally broke down and ordered a case. The fun never ends!!!

I placed my order today for more wax. Its the first wax since I started testing out new blends that has gotten a reorder!! Right now I'm testing a blend of 75% tcs/ 25% 4633. LOVING these results!!

Wick or no wick, wax can only hold so much FO. Looks like your already using about the Max. I wouldn't suggest using any more.

Right now I'm testing a blend if 75% tcs tart wax and 25% 4633. Its the first blend I've tried in a while that made it to my stage 2 of testing: adding Color! I'm not sure what the best temp would be, I have 3 bulb Warmer's, one is a 40 watt bulb, one is 25, and the other is 15 watts. I also have a plate style warmer. It doesn't seem to burn out the scent as fast as the Illumination warmer. Its got a halogen bulb in it and the scent burns out in no time. So many differeent factors they will all make you head spin!!

As you all know, I've been pouring, and testing, and testing, and pouring. I've noticed in my Illumination warmer, nothing last as long as I would like. I was wondering if it was just the warmer, so I pulled out some of my old formula's, they only lasted 1-2 hours! So I think that 8-12 with the new wax is FANTASTIC!!! I also got Sugar Cookie (MW) and Daystars Blackberry Jam Butter Cookie (I'm renaming Blackberry Flapjacks) to go for almost 18 in a regular bulb warmer. I'm working on pouring some other scents now, Amish Quilt & Warm Vanilla Nutmeg from AH/RE, Fall Festival from MW, NG's Apple Mango, and my Sunshine, we'll see how these do. I don't currently carry any Candle Warmers melters, with these results I probably won't. Just thought I'd update on my testing progress!!

I'm so sorry you had to go through this! I think you handled it very well, probably better than I would have. I have been thinking about doing some wholesale or consignment accounts, this really gives me a lot to think about!

I was wondering about some of those! I have gotten some requests for some crazy smelling candles. After I get done testing waxes I'll start on these!!

Just a little background on the girl inquiring, neither her or her husband work, he is mentally disabled, and they live off the state. Not that I am condemning them for it, but had it been someone that I know was truly interested and could afford such a venture, I would have no problem with them asking questions. But I know she isn't capable of investing, nor would she be willing to do the strenuous testing that is involved. I politely informed her that it was not easy money and told her if she was truly interested to google candle making supplies and find someone that has a starter kit.

I just got this email on Facebook... " Who do you go through to get your stuff to make candles? I really need to try to make some extra money for us and i was going to tr doing that. Thanks so much" :tiptoe:

I poured a couple unscented 2x4 pillars for a friend, and had some left over wax, so I'm experimenting. Making my very first layered pillar!! Will post pics later!!

Everything effects everything!! Sometimes, when I'm pouring candles I think, "Am I holding my tongue the same way I was last time???" Every little change you make can change it all!!

I had to make a run to the school. Seems my boys are all suffering from "Mom's got a new car, let's make her run her guts out" syndrome!! Gotta love them!! I have gotten some melts poured, now I'm flipping through some old notes before I start on my candles. I sure do love my job!!

JAJC-I mail melts to my parents in Wyoming, usually once a season, always some Sugar Cookie and Sunshine, and then whatever else I want to send!! Chandler- Super jealous over here! I'd love to meet up with a fellow chandler for some talk!! And BTA hasn't been here since November, I wonder where she may be??

This week has flown by! I'm spending today pouring candles to finish out wicking/testing my 21 oz status jars, and pouring some tarts in TCS tart wax, I will definitely be pouring some of Daystars Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies (finally!). We leave bright and early in the morning to head on a big snowtubing trip with our youth group, so I have to get my pouring done today. I can't test til Monday, I do better waiting to test if I have something to keep me busy, otherwise it drives me nuts, waiting to light that candle!! What's everyone else up to this weekend?
