So you dont work for google you just have an adwords campaign? Do you "work" for google. I mean actually approve listings for the directory. i know someone who does this and was actually able to build software around his knowledge over the years.

I agree with ebay being cheap but I disagree with a website only being for repeat sales. The build it and they wont come theory is right so you must build it and market it and then.... they will come. Websites are just like any other aspect of your business, no magic potions or anything. You must promote your website just like you promote the business. If properly marketed and promoted websites are a vital tool to any busness. Can you name a person that is looking for "Anything" that they dont go online and check out. Either research or get prices or find out where to get it. The internet has replaced our old way of doing things and websites are going to become more and more important. Answer honestly: when you are looking for something do you google it or go find your phonebook and look in the yellow pages?

In our section of florida we get what is called the "green sheet" not really any news just people seling stuff and adds. More like a classifieds or yellowpages. This ad is delivered free once a week and I can tell you when you talk to people they will tell you "My washer broke today" but they are waiting for the greensheet LOL So this one works as for others I dont know. If it gets delivered I think it is better than just in a lobby of some store for a kid to take one of everyone because they are free.

Hello all, I have to ask this question and I will tell you why. Since I started we didnt have alot of FOs for a couple of reasons. The first being we werent to sure on what was good from who and didnt want to waste money so we got some as we went along on recomendations from sites like this. Now since I started doing labels for the barter thing we now have over 200 scents. LMAO some of the wonderful people here sent tons of FOs (which is great), but it leads to the question How many FOs do some of you people have. LOL

I usually dont do smaller sites but I to get between 25-50 an hour for hourly or flat rate on larger sites. Usually the larger they are the quicker they want the flat rate. I did do a site recently for a member here that I charged a flat rate for which was less than I usually charge, I did it for the same reason your designer did. She is a small business as well and already had a site with most of the info on it which saves alot of time.

I think when we order it if it is over 2lbs you have to hazmat if it is under you dont. But you can get as many 2lb containers as you want so go figure.

You cn get a "virtual" or "Follow me" number. they have a variety of features etc. but you can have them ring different or let you know whos calling, music on hold etc. they arent good if you spend alot of time on the phone though LOL

Blogs will help you out to. As crazy as that sould. Also the more info you have about a product you are selling the better. So if you sell candles and have candle recipes etc that help to. Message boards like this are also good once you get visitors coming.

This is my question. Do you think it matters much of you color your soy wax. It is hard for me to get vibrant coors in it or have any clue what color I will end up with. So do you think it matters if you dont color the jar candles? How about the tins, in tins you only see color on top. I wish I could figure out a way to make them white when cold an colored when hot. That would be a novelty.

Do you have the domain name hosted somewhere that you can put a page. If you do pm me and I will help you out. All you would have to do is write a couple of paragraphs about your company and give me a few pics of your products. That would be enough for me to make you a page.

Put your website up asap and put your domain name on everything. On your website put phrases like "The original MysticGlow" or "The Real" Mystic Glow. Do not mention the oher site but play along with "Often Imitated never duplicated" anyone that has seen the other site will get it anyone who hasnt wont. Put a page on your domain even if it is just a info on a home page write it well and optimize it for search engines and submit it. They are number 8 on google now with the term mystic glow with the other 7 not being that relevant. So you should be able to climb right to the top. It may also help to purchase an keyword mystic glow since nothing turns up so it will be very cheap. this way you will be roght up top till you get there on your own. Dont buy anything till you have the full site up though.

See I got the percent thing equalling 100 down I just need to learn what each oil or butter does to the soap as they hav different properties. I need a good book i think

Ok i made it so when you clicked the banner itself it goes to the site like a normal banner. Prairieannie, as usual you make valid points. It is good to have a honest perspective on these things. Let me explain a little. It has to be flash as I am doing a flash add campaign. THis is just the basic one but I will also be doing a skyscraper and an overlay that pops up and thn goes away. I should take the about us out I think that may be dumb I am thinking maybe I will just do new products and current specials. As far as functionality It will be functional as this is only the mockup of the design. It will actually be called by a javascript that will detect the users browser and write the html accordingly, if no javascript is installed it will just display a gif banner. I just didnt want to go through all that in case I decided to change something drastic. I wanted opinions first. I also did one for someone else as well I will see if I can post a link to it. Maybe as far as the moving I can make the words type in or flash or something. I just kinda wanted to be subtle. Please keep your suggestions coming as they do not offend but will help me make a great banner. Thanks Doug

Paypal has a shopping cart. I think alot of people use mals to but I am not to familiar with the html carts. I know paypal had one though.
