  1. Hmmm...I'd never thought of leather. Might have to give it a whirl Might be a good scent for guys (my dh refuses to hang an ornie in his car...maybe I can sneak one in, LOL).
  2. Hey all! I've been making aroma ornies for my family and neighbors. Just curious on what scents you tend to use. I've been sticking mainly to the "clean" scents (clean cotton, Downey..) and I'm getting tired of the same old scents. I'm not sure how the bakery type scents would smell in the beads. Any suggestions, or scents you like? Thanks D
  3. I tried Lonestar's April Downey Fresh (my fav). I did add a little Vybar 103. Don't get me wrong, it DID throw with no cure time, just not as strong as I want. I'm letting the other two cure and I'll try them again. I really like how the paraffin looks and sets up. So we'll see Thanks guys!
  4. I used 10% LOL. Very little FO seeping out, so that's good. Just not the "fill your house" throw I want.
  5. Thanks, Scented I added some J223 to the paraffin and it did melt faster...still not the scent throw I want, but I'll work with it. The paraffin's nice, it doesn't stick in the warmer and pops out when cold. Thanks to all of you for your advice
  6. Well I'm stubborn, LOL I am gonna muck around with this wax and see what it can do. If all else fails, at least I've learned a bit about paraffin and additives Thanks guys!
  7. I posted about this same issue awhile back...here's the thread: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8143 HTH! D
  8. Hi all I found a local supplier of 1343. I've been researching the heck out of it and here's my question. IF you use this wax for tarts (it's MP is 139), what could you add to lower the melting point? I tried Crisco, it took over an hour to get a full melt. Would petrolatum work better? I'd love for this wax to work since I wouldn't have to pay shipping. I did get a dip in the tart too, and very little scent throw (at 10%), but I think I can work on that. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks so much! D
  9. Best wishes to you, Tucker. We'll miss you around here! Please check in when you can and take care of yourself!
  10. That's insane. The beauty of the internet...you can do instant price comparisons
  11. I'm with you Bruce I want a tart that fills my entire 2 story house! I know it can be done!! That's a strong throw is to me
  12. Thanks guys I'm such an impatient person, LOL. I've never cured any of my tarts, but I reallllllllyyyy want the JS scents to work so I'll give it a whirl *Keep your fingers crossed!!*
  13. Thanks so much I really appreciate all of you guys helping me out. I'm going to make a batch tonight and use JS oils. I'll cure them and compare them with the ones that didn't cure. Thanks again! D
  14. Tess, do you cure tarts too? I always thought that there was no cure time for tarts. Hmmm....now I'm wondering.
  15. Thanks guys! I was debating Greenleaf, but wanted to see what others thought before I ordered yet another wax to play with I've got some KY Parasoy, but wasn't to crazy about it. Maybe I'll give it another chance. I appreciate it!
  16. Thanks Dee. I read around and figured out that the 2.5 is the diameter and not how much wax the molds will hold. Thank you!!
  17. I've used J223 and 4794. Mostly for wickless and tarts. I let my wickless cure for 2 weeks, I burn the tarts whenever (sometimes they cure, sometimes they don't, doesn't seem to make a difference).
  18. I'd love to try some tarts using a paraffin vegetable wax blend. I do have some 6006 on hand, but I think it would be to soft. Any other suggestions? Thanks guys D
  19. What a bummer. I'm almost tempted to try a different wax to see it would make a difference. :embarasse At least I know I'm not alone!
  20. Hey Sorry, this is a goofy question, but I cannot seem to find the answer. Does anyone know if the 2.5 floater molds hold 2.5 oz of wax? Or is that a diameter size? Any ideas? Trying to figure out whether or not that's the size I want to order, but their site (BCN) doesn't say how much wax it holds. Thanks D
  21. Hi all! After reading so many great reviews on Just Scent oils, I ordered a bunch of samples. I made some tarts with 4794 and for the life of me, I can't get the oils to throw. They're very weak. I was adding 10%, I cut back and used 6%, no throw. It doesn't seem to matter which FO I use (the Chestnuts and brown sugar is stronger, but not super strong). I usually add my FOs at around 170-175 or so. Does anyone have any suggestions. I REALLY want to like these oils Thanks! D
  22. Hey All! Wasn't sure where to post this, so here goes...do any of you sell "Get Well" gift baskets? My mom is in the hospital and I want to send her something nice Can you pm me with a website if you do? Thanks all!! D
  23. Thanks for the info! I kept trying to get in and couldn't. Good to know they'll be back, it's such a great resource!
