  1. Hello all! Does anyone know how long it takes for Bitter Creek South to bill you (if you pay by PayPal?). I ordered yesterday afternoon and haven't gotten an email with my invoice yet. I didn't even get an order confirmation email (although I did get a confirmation order number after ordering). I'm guessing they're closed for the weekend and will get back to me tomorrow. Any ideas? Thanks
  2. That totally makes sense. Thanks guys I ordered some dye chips and figured if I did have to heat my pour pot (which I probably will), I can throw the dye chip in the pour pot so it can melt while the pot warms up! I appreciate your help!
  3. Hey all! I read a post where someone heated their pour pot prior to putting the melted wax in it. Is this necessary? I've got a Presto Pot and plan on mixing my FO and dye in the pour pot (not the presto). Any thoughts?
  4. Hi guys! After spending tons of money on tarts (and ending up with literally hundreds of tarts I didn't like or didn't burn strong enough), I've decided to make my own! I've been reading like crazy, and just wanted to come out from lurking and say thanks to all of you for all your fantastic information! Although I'm not sure I'm going to save any money, LOL. I came across the Aroma Ornies and have decided to try those too :rolleyes2 I'll get started with all of it in the next week or so, and I figured you'd probably be seeing my name a ton with questions, so I'd better pop in beforehand and say hello! Thanks again for all of your help and advice D
  5. That's good to know! I'll have to try the fragrances
  6. I didn't want to fork out a ton of money (I'm just starting to make my own tarts). I got mine in an 11# slab from Ebay for $12.99 plus shipping. Just ordered it yesterday, so can't give you any reviews yet, but seller had good feedback I also ended up buying her Presto pot with spigot. Gotta love Ebay! http://stores.ebay.com/Fancy-Cat-Candles_W0QQssPageNameZviQ3asibQ3astoreviewQQtZkm Her id is fancycatlips
  7. Thanks so much A lot of you guys suggested doing 50/50 with the 6228 and J223 so that the tarts would not only hold the scent better, but would not be to soft and stick in the mold. It was also said that because 6228 has a higher melt point, some people had a hard time getting their tarts made from just the 6228 wax to melt in the warmer. So, I think I'll try a few different formulas and see which I like best! I did order FO from Nature's Garden and color chips from Peaks. Thank you so much for your help!
  8. Hello! I'm a newbie and am doing my research to make my own tarts. I have a few questions I was hoping someone might be able to answer for me. (1) I plan on using Astrolite 6228 and J223 (50/50) for my tarts. When mixing 6228 and J223 what is the melting point since it is two different waxes with two different mps? Do you average the two? (2) What temp do I add FO and color. I plan on using a Presto Pot and pouring the melted wax into a pouring pitcher before adding the FO and dye. (3) After adding the dye and the FO, can I then pour the wax into the molds? (4) Last one (for now ), can anyone suggest a site with high quality FOs and dyes? I truly appreciate all of your wonderful advice and insight! I am so amazed at all the knowledge that this board has to offer! Thanks for any help you can offer!
