  1. Hi, yes I do use rapeseed wax (well trying ) I don't think the US can get rapeseed wax or so I have heard. Anyway there is hardly any info on this wax out there and it's very much down to trial and error. I have been adding my fragrance at 80 but I have no idea about essential oils as I have never used them.
  2. Hi, I ordered some 1 ozers just before Xmas, the fragrances was ok. The best one for me was frosted cranberry and spiced sugar plum, I did get the blueberry pancakes but to me smells the same as everyone else's blueberry cheesecake/blueberry croissants (but that might just be me) the country britches is quite a light clean smell and chestnuts and brown sugar was ok. I also got the hazelnut creme brûlée and I didn't like this, French vanilla crunch didn't seem to have much smell oob or in my wax same as the double dip caramel. Overall I probably won't order again although as I said the spiced sugar plum and the frosted cranberry was the best I have tried. Hope this helped. Forgot to say this was in candles they might be better in melts.
  3. Oh yes this smells so nice and for me it's dead on with English lavender
  4. Yes I have this made up in a candle, I've not burned it yet but the cold throw is amazing.
  5. I also had the buttered biscuits, ended up throwing it away as I can't smell anything oob.
  6. Another one I am going to have to order Has anyone tried the new orange caramel cake? Oh my this is the best smelling fragrance ever.
  7. Oh how sad for you but wonderful that she is doing well in life! Faversham is not too far from us, we are in Leigh on Sea
  8. We are in Essex, I think I read that your daughter goes to uni here?
  9. Sorry I am in the uk and we normally work in celsius, have just converted to fahrenheit and it is 176.
  10. Thanks for that info, I add in my fragrance normally about 80 so should I try the bakery fragrances at 85?
  11. Well we only really get tea light warmers here, I have been lucky and managed to find an electric warmer but because I know that most people use tea light burners thats why I test in that. We can get the yankee and partylite electric warmers but in my opinion they are rubbish they do not seem to get hot enough to release the scent. I feel abit better now knowing that its not just me, I have been aiming to get 40 hours out of my melts and thats why I gave up as I just could not achieve it.
  12. I am so glad I have read this thread. When I first came onto this board I done alot of reading about wax tarts, I decided to try and have a go at making my own, my wax tarts last normally for about 12 hours with a tea light warmer but after reading threads here I became obsessed that mine was not good enough, I became a mad professor making wax blends adding in fragrance at different temperatures but no matter what I did it did not make a difference to the longevity of my wax tarts. Since then I stopped making them as I thought that mine was rubbish and no one would want to buy them but now having read this I might start up again . Also I found that bakery fragrances seemed to last only roughly 8 hours.
  13. Thank you for replies I went ahead and placed an order yesterday, the fragrances sound great, will update when I get them and put them in wax

  18. Hi, Just wondered if someone might be able to help me. I am getting some raw cd wick, I want to prime it, I think I know what to do but not sure what wax to prime it in? I use rapeseed container wax with a small amount of paraffin added in. Any ideas on what to prime the wick in? Thanks
  19. Yes I did originally start out with paraffin but never got it quite right so I now use rapeseed container wax from 4candles, the cold scent throw is really great and hot throw is great too but I am still trying to get wicking right. I just love vanilla, the sweet bakery type but unfortunately I find that they lose the strength after 1st burn and this was not just the rapeseed it happened in paraffin as well, perhaps it's something I am not doing right.
  20. Hello, Vanilla bean supreme I can't get as flash point is under 200. I will have a look again at daystar. I use rapeseed wax which is similar to soy. Has anyone else experienced what I mean by the scent changing after the first burn?
  21. Thanks for reply but unfortunately I can't get that as I am in uk and they will not ship but thanks for advise.
  22. Hello, I was wondering if anyone can offer me some advise please. I am looking for a really good vanilla but all the ones I have tried seem to lose their scent after 1st burn, they don't lose their scent completely it seems to change and lose the sweetness and then just smell like a cheap vanilla candle. Any idea why it is doing this? I have tried bcn, daystar and bw. Thanks
