  1. Hi , I have been trying to come up with a business name for around 6 months and I am well and truly stumped. I do know that I want it to have a country primitive feel and I absolutely love butterflies but do not know how I can combine the word butterfly into a candle business name? Any ideas? Thanks
  2. I am in the UK and I can't get these anywhere in my country, that's the only place I have found them. Hope you manage to get some from china.
  3. Hi, take a look at kerzenkiste they sell the heart and star shape polycarbonate tealight cups.
  4. Hi, I was using a blend of 80% paraffin and 20% c3. The honey jar is 75mm wide and 95mm tall. The straight sided jar is 3 inches wide by 3 inches tall. I have been trying cd and eco wicks, achieved nearly full melt pool on first burn with a cd16 in the straight jar but then on subsequent burns it never managed to get to full melt, have also tried upto an eco12 but again never got to full melt apart from right at the bottom of the jar. Thanks
  5. Please can someone help me before I throw all my supplies in the bin!!! I am trying out 2 jars, one straight sided about 3 inches diameter and the other is the one pound honey jar that has shoulders. My problem is that any jar that has shoulders the wick seems to get really small about halfway down the jar, first few burns start off well then at halfway point wick gets really small but then towards the end of the jar the flame picks up again and burns ok again. I am not happy that the wick gets so small halfway through. Surely it can't be lack of oxygen as the flame picks up again when the candle is near the end? Any ideas? Also are the straight sided jars hard to wick? I thought they would be easy peasy but the problem seems that as the jars are about 3 inches wide and have no shoulders there is not any extra heat to help with melting the wax and I find that I don't get any scent throw for at least the first half of the candle?
  6. I have just recently tried ab fab cake and oh my god this is so delicious and strong in my wax, I absolutely love it
  7. I was wondering if anyone had tried Cleopatra from Aztec?
  8. Thanks so much for your replies, I ordered last night but I have to allow up to 4 weeks for delivery as I am in the UK. I will post back on this thread and let you know what I thought of the peach cobbler . Thank you.
  9. I am going to place an order with ics as I need more sugared spruce and I thought I might as well try some others as well. This is what I have in my basket. Any thoughts on how these do? They will be used in candles and melts in a parasoy blend. Thanks Caramelized Pralines Vanilla Smoothie Caramel Macciato Zucchini Bread Zucchini Pumpkin Bread Peach Cobbler Sugar Cookie Dough Lemon Gumdrops
  10. Hi, Have you tried ds southern Creme brulee? I love this one and its super strong as well.
  11. Well I think mine had cured about a month by then, I hate curing, I'm so impatient, I just what to light them up as soon as I've made them
  12. Wow that is good, think I will have to get some pb wax and try it out. What fragrance did you use? I have found that some fragrances last longer than others. I'm not sure how long a tart should last , some say on here that they last for days however I have not been able to get strong hot throw over about 8 hours but I use the tealight warmers so perhaps that makes a difference.
  13. I too have sweet grass and I absolutely love it but unfortunately for me I can't get a good hot throw either, I repoured it yesterday and added the fragrance at a lower temp , just waiting for it to cure. I will report back and let you know if I get any better hot throw.
  14. Hi Sherry, Yep I can agree the c3 really does seem to benefit from a longer cure time. I made some candles up and burned them after a weeks curing , wasn't too impressed with hot throw so put them away, then yesterday every time I walked past my cupboard I kept getting this wonderful smell, it was the c3 candles that I had put away and forgotten about. I had not thought of mixing the c3 and pb for tarts, I am having a hard time making a tart that lasts past 8 hours, would you kindly report back and let me know how long your tarts are lasting? Thanks x
  15. Thank you so much for your replies, I will try again placing the wicks 1 inch apart.
  16. Thanks for reply. The metal sustainers I used was quite small and I'm pretty sure I had the 3 metal sustainer's touching. I think I will use the bigger sustainer's next time and place wicks slightly wider apart. I think the wicks might be abit big as I achieved a full melt pool on the first burn.
  17. Hi, I am attempting triple wicking again and wondered if anyone can tell me about placement of the wicks please? I have attached a picture but I think I might have placed the wicks too close together? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  18. Hi Karen, Yep definately give Candle Cocoon a try, Lyschel has some wonderful scents, her creme brulee cafe is gorgeous but I couldnt get it to last too long in a melt (I know you only do melts) but you might be able to get it to last longer, also her coconut macaroon is gorgeous oh another one pumpkin coffee is lovely as well, I dont smell much coffee but it sure is a nice fragrance and my favourite of all time is brewed jasmine, a lovely clean floral.
