  1. I didnt say it was watery I said thin as if it has to much water in it. its not liquid by all means its just thin in my opinion. I did get this off the classified about 3wks ago so maybe it was old not sure. I just wanted some suggestion on how to thicken or if I could thicken it up. I will check with BCN but as I mention I didnt buy it straight from them...its second hand lol thanks for you help, im gonna keep playing with it and maybe even order some from them to compare. I think I picked the wrong words to describe this base

I called C&S and they had me send in my jar so that they can fit it, according to C&S the flower pot lids fit but when I got it it seemed a little big didnt have a snug fit..not sure how to make it work since the flower pot lid was the smallest

  10. I made up a batch of the BCN lotion base I added the recommended amt of fo plus 1% soybean oil. the lotion seems a bit thin almost as if its to much water in it, is there anyway to thicken this base up without bothering the chemical bal? I was reading and really getting mixed feels...I may have to try a different base....dont get me wrong my hands are soft but because of my darker skin tone I need it to be a little thicker to prevent me from being ashy lol...any suggestions

  13. Ok I made Kimberlys whipped body butter a few weeks ago and gave the samples out to family and friends at my church. My thought was to have them test it out and I would be able to began to sell around Christmas. Well it was a hit and they loved it. I have them asking me to make more, I explained about the summer and how the butters will melt, they didnt care. My question is there anything I can add to make this not melt during the summer months? Or is there another way to make it to with stand the heat without adding anything else? any suggestions would be helpful

  16. I just started last fall with tarts and like Beth recently ventured into B&B....I do understand it can be frustrating when dealing with the government. I am willing to help also I have to admitt I have never been an admin person I am a helper.. so I am willing to help in any way as this does affect me and I love what I do...so tell me where to start Im on board...anyone in Illinois that would like to work on our reps here? maybe thats an idea. Every state can put together a committee to work on getting through to the rep in their state, media, consumers etc...then we all come together for capitol Hill. its just a thought.... we have many states represented here..what you think
  17. I will have to try theres I am currently making tarts with the one from NG its a good seller, I am testing Aztecs also. I changed the name to Grown & Sexy, I sell and gift at church so I try to keep it decent lol
  18. thats good to know, while I was making I started to do the exact same thing with the cornstarch and I thought I better not but now I will and see how that works. I do like it and it does absorb but I wish it wouldnt go on so greasy, next time im going to sub my SAO with a little oil and see how that works, not sure but im going to try it. Now I read cocoa butter makes it hard but I would like to try that also. have you sub cocoa butter or added a little to see how it works? I wonder would that keep it from melting when the temps are up out side?
  19. thank you all, I whipped for 20 min took a break put on ice then whipped another 20min then back on ice, and again for about 10-15 then placed in the ridge over night. After I let it get to room temp today its back softer than out of the ridge, I have to say I do love it it is a bit greasy when I first place it on but then it feels silky after about five minutes. I did a moisture test lol...I washed my hands with a bar of M&P soap AOH I made about a month or so ago, which I think dries my hands out, then I rubbed in a small amount of the whipped butter on my hands, I then washed my hands again and I could see the water beaded up and running off my hand...so it is very moisturizing lol
  20. :yay:I made my first batch of whipped body butter, this was Kimberlys recipe but I tweaked it a little to work with the items I had one hand ok this is what I used....6.5oz of shea, 1.5oz of mango butter,2 1/2 oz of SAO,2tsp of cornstarch and .5oz of FO pink layered frosting cake from just scents, and 2drops of red dye...and then I whipped like crazy with my handheld mixer, I used the cold bath method because my pyrex cup was to large to fit in the freezer. i let it set in the fridge overnight and its very firm I can scoop it out on my hand but it doesnt feel whipped so not sure what I did wrong.. ok enough here are the pictures any help will be appreciated this is the first day these are after being in the fridge for 24 hrs any help please, how can I keep this fluffy and whipped and not whipped and firm like cold butter...it does melt in my hand but I have to scoop it out
