  1. Honestly, the spelling and lack of punctuation on these sites is amazing..... PURFUME possiable seperate back and fourth "Many of the candles on the market today have a throw of 5 feet at the very best" "We use 3 times the industry standard" "Did you know that a candle has a memory?" Is this normal? : "shall not be responsible for any injuries, damages or losses of any kind due to your use of any product purchased at......" "our maximum liability to you is the amount you paid for the product." "Your purchase from ...... signifies your acceptance of the aforementioned information and policies."
  2. Try this math...... "Currently we carry over 700 wonderful fragances!" 700????????????????????????? "Each and every scent goes through a rigorous testing process that can take any where from 2 to 4 months." (& I hope I never pick on a website that belongs to someone here! lol)
  3. Lemme pop open the box, lol. 2¼" opening. Body of the jar is 2¾". They really are cute! & there's a flat portion on one side for a label.
  4. Yeah, I'm sure Yankee's really worried...riiiight.
  5. lol, no, that was just a side note to the discussion. Your comment earlier just reminded me about how everyone puts the "did you know candles have a memory?" line on their websites, lol. And "soy candles are VIRTUALLY sootless". I've seen both those lines a million times already.
  6. When can newbies see the classifieds? Maybe there's a trick to it I'm overlooking....
  7. 2 words on almost every site I look at: "virtual" & "memory".
  8. One more..... "Non-Allergenic for those who have experienced allergenic reactions to petroleum based paraffin candles - now you can enjoy that wonderful soothing relaxing candle lit evening without difficulty!" "It also means no burns from hot wax. The liquid wax can actually be touched!" What is with all these people who touch the wax?
  9. A ha! The whole "triple-scented" theory explained, typo and all: "The biggest advantage is scent! They are somtimes called triple-scented because of the amount of fragrance they can hold -- far more than paraffin or beeswax, and virtually almost as much as natural candles."
  10. I could do this forever, lol. Reminds me of what good teachers I have here!
  11. In case you were looking for the very best candle in the US, here it is: "Our handcrafted triple scented candles are becoming the number one highly scented candle in the USA." And they have ESP: "We hand-poured our candles at the time of your order" & aren't you jealous you didn't think of this! "candle tarts are one of a kind" "6 pack breakaway" "Over 560 scented candles are now available from ....." Really??? I see how long it takes to figure out the whole wax/wick/FO combos... that would take me decades to figure out.. & their designer scents.. not one of them said "type" . ??
  12. This may seem strange, but maybe Hippie Christmas from NG. I mostly smell the vanilla & peppermint. It's light & fresh, imo.
  13. Go to each supplier's website. Find the wax you want. Put 10 lbs in "your cart" & then calculate shipping. Make a list & see where you can get the best total price.
  14. Did you look at Candlewic? You might check the shipping, but it looks like a good deal for the price of the kit. http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=c66,p792
  15. These were $6.50 the other day at Walmart for 12: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-and-Gardens-Half-Pint-Glass-Jar-with-Lid-and-Ring/16351137
  16. Well, here's some more, lol: "Safe and Easy Cleaning Because of the lower melting point of soy wax (approx. 118 degrees), the melted wax is safe to the touch" I found another site with a "how-to" article & she said that if you make your candles from a kit that you didn't even have to test them! Because the supplier would make sure you had all the right pieces & parts in the kit. Right....................
  17. & you should contact her and see what type of soy wax it is, so that you can study up on it now.
  18. I didn't see any containers in your kit?
  19. Another question- I'm randomly looking at different candle websites checking out labels, containers, etc & sometimes I'll read through a lot of their info on "why soy/paraffin" and "how to burn..". I ran across this and it's the first time I've seen anyone say this: "When you burn your soy wax candle you might notice a mushroom of flower-like formation on the end of the wick. This is a natural phenomenon common to soy wax that does not occur with other waxes. It is not the wick that causes this. Before re-lighting your candle it's okay to knock ash off the wick before but it is not necessary. Do not trim wick in case you trim it too short!" ??
