  1. Hi there Russell!! Let me begin by saying LOVE your site and LOVE your packaging. I have found packaging/presentation to be one of the hardest things to perfect. We, like you, picked one wax, soy (GB464 to be exact) and stuck with it. Lots of testing, as you know, and have what we feel are 5 very nice container candles. Our retail break, if you will, came when a store owner stopped by our booth at a show. We are still developing her line so I guess I'm not a ton of help there, but maybe start by dropping off small samples and doing some face to face cold calls in your area. Small hometown businesses LOVE to buy from other local businesses and you sure sound like you have the desire and personality for it, so I for one say WAY TO GO!! I wish you tons of luck!! I really believe you will get out of it what you put in, so in that respect you'll do great!!!
  2. Thanks so much for that suggestion, I was simply going to use a fourth ECO4, I will change that thought now and maybe do (2) more, one with ECO2's and pick a CD wick to test (quad) too
  3. This CRACKED me up!!! I was traveling all day yesterday so missed all the great info reading and catching up now though
  4. Oh man, can't believe that I'm saying this.....I AM SO IN with the 4 wicks!! Do you really think so? Maybe the next tester I use (4) ECO 4's instead of testing the CD wicks?? I really dig these containers, I got these (now discontinued) for $17.88 per case (12 per case) in clear and smoky. LOVE THEM !! Have you done 4 wicks in yours? YIKES.....I believe you're on to something here!!!
  5. Well here is an updated photo, this was after 32 hours. I am AMAZED that it has cleaned up this much!!
  6. Crazzie....ha ha, sorry, mis-understood. I'll have to give that some thought Jeanie353, no, I have not tried them yet, but I will now. THANK YOU so much!!!!
  7. Maybe a png file of a Dacshund Silhouette? I think it would look great given the current layout of your labels. The clear labels look super!! I have been in search of a great clear label that is REALLY clear, no haze. I've tried 3 types so far with no luck on the "no label" appearance.
  8. CD7's it is. This will be so interesting!! Below are all 3 intervals concluding with today's burn at 24 hours Hmmmm, this MIGHT clean up ????
  9. Hi Tracey, Good Morning to you! No mushrooms at all, BUT in another tester that I am doing now too, a new colored libby cube, my CD14 shroomed like crazy but only on the first burn, weird uh? The CD wicks remain my favorite in my GB464, the ECOs really gave me trouble, like the ECO 10's burned way to hot in my 8oz jj, but the ECO8 was too small hence my move to CD's and my pick for my 8oz jj is the CD10. Susan Edited to say that my go to wick for the 2oz tins is ECO4's, I didn't have any CD's small enough on hand to test the 38oz triple wicked big boy, but did order them and will test, but STILL need to decied on a CD starting size
  10. Thanks so much for the input. 001, the candle is 3.75" deep. rjdaines, I'm with you 100% and will post another photo later today. I am going to pour another tester, this time with CD wicks but not sure where to start with the CD wicks, these are ECO4's, any idea? I use CD10's in my 8oz jj and they do just fine. So maybe (3) CD6 wicks??
  11. You guys are the BEST for taking a look, REALLY appreciated. OK here are the photos side by side, the one on the left is 8 hours (from yesterday) and the one on the right is at 16 hours taken today. Your thoughts? Thanks again!!!
  12. Oh wow, thank you!! Would you be willing to take another look if I post another photo, further down the burn?
  13. Thank you Tracey!! What a nice comment Pam, thank you very much for the advice, really appreicate it. I do see what you are talking about, didn't notice that before.
  14. Hello All ! I was wondering if any of the "triple wick" experts could take a look here please. this is after 8 hours. GB464, 38oz, 5.25" diameter, 93) ECO 4's. I was going to use my CD wicks but the smallest that I had on hand were CD8's and thought that they may be too much. The HT is amazing!! Used CS McIntosh So, question is, do you agree that this is under wicked? If I were to know test with my CD wicks, what size would you suggest starting with? Thank you very much!!
  15. Hi there, have you tried MC Leather FO? They claim to test in 100% soy, which is why I tried them, and they must because all of the scents that I've tried from them throw great in my GB464 wax. Now, that said, I have the Leather FO but have not poured it yet, OOB its super though!! Good Luck....oh, if I happen to test soon I will post here.
  16. Hey there MoonShine!! Thank you very much!! I have stuck with the CD wicks, they have been a God send. I did test the CDNs as well and really the results were so close to the CDs that I just stuck with the CD wicks. I rarely use ECOs any more except in my small tins, the ECO 4s are perfect in them. Do you use any colored containers? Sounds like you stick to pure soy wax color too, like me. The colored containers that we are going to be testing are so pretty and its a way to add some color to our lines. I will have to think long and hard about a wick choice for the bell shaped container though.
  17. Thanks so much for the kind comments!! I really LOVE the heavy crystal jar as well, and when I say heavy, I mean heavy. You should have seen the metal cooling rack sag when I place that one on to cool....YIKES
  18. Thank you Stella!! Not sure if you remember, but you gave me the advice to cool on racks, I started that right away and it made a HUGE difference!! So thank you again and again!!
  19. Thanks for posting that! We have never added color to our wax, always just left natural and based on the number of threads about frosting I think we will just keep on doing the same thing only in some colored jars Interesting, we did a holiday show a few weeks ago and there was another chandler there and only sold colored candles and ALL of them looked the same (frosted) quite honestly I thought they were pretty, but to each their own I guess. I think your candle is pretty too! Susan
  20. You know, funny thing, I actually had to google "soy wax" and "frosting" because I have never experienced it.....I assume becuase we don't color the wax, right? We are going start using colored containers (all recycled glass) just to add some color to (2) of our lines. Some customers really want that color choice but not in the wax, so our solution was to find a wholesale supply company and we did and got approved for an account. Still awaiting the samples though, we'll see, but we are really excited.
  21. Hi there mzphee, I heat to 185, add FO, stir while cooling and pour at 160. It has been my experience that if you can lessen the temp differential between your jar and the wax you will lessen your margin for errors, this can be done with a quick swipe of a heat gun (carefully). The FO's used were all custom recipes but I have achieved the same nice tops with several straight FOs. I cool on racks and that has mad a HUGE difference. I would tell anyone that is close to giving up on using GB464 to hang in there, it is such a beautiful wax!! HTH
  22. Thank you! The round one (heavy crystal) was made for a customer's special request, it is a combination of CS Christmas Hearth and Christmas Memories (too add more citrus) and the smaller cube is another "custom" request, Hot Cocoa with Butterscotch Snapps (we used chocolate kisses and buttered rum) What a BLAST !!!
  23. I posted these at the gallery too. It can be done! These are from our last pour of the year. Looking forward to doing many more special containers. Thanks for letting me share!
  24. These are a few of our last pour of the year! The big green container is "Herb Garden" (CS basil and herb and a dash of hope)
  25. Had a super show Saturday, sold out of all Christmas inventory except for 2. It was a BLAST too!!! Hope everyone else did the same!
