  1. Oh I know! I never realized how awful my "home grown" photos were until I saw Kevin's work! I am sure that he would deal with out of state clients and his prices are really good! He is super attentive too, let me know if you want to contact him or him contact you, you can IM me. You will LOVE his creativity too! Thanks for checking out our photos!
  2. Thanks for all the kind words!!! We're pretty excited!
  3. Thank you! The photographer nicely adjusted the font to the backdrop or "feel" of the actual shot, giving us several choices. So no, not really different for differenct products.
  4. HayCreek, thank you so much! I have a great supplier for the green bottles, I would be happy to give you the info any time. BTW, Morgantown! I pass that exit ALL THE TIME! Nice part of PA
  5. Hey there Tracey!!!! Busy is RIGHT!! Thank you so much for the kind words, Kevin (the photographer) has been THE BEST to work with!!! I know how all of us here struggle with expenses and really get nice photos of our products that we work so hard on so wanted to share his information with everyone. We had a great show in March, get this, we sold out of all of our lotions!! Go figure!! Hope you are doing well! Thanks again for the kind words! Susan
  6. Hello all, just had to share our new product photos. Met THE BEST folks at a recent show that we did. They are very resonable and GREAT to work with!! Here is a link to the website: http://www.element9images.com/ Just wanted to share!!
  7. I here what you're saying! I guess over time my "eye" for amount has gotten pretty good, sometime I may have a little too much, which is why I keep 4oz tins handy. I pour the overrun in them to use as sold air freshners We DID get snow! About 6", already melting though which makes me VERY HAPPY!!!!!
  8. Hey there Tracey!! I use a presto pot with spigot. No lines needed in pot. Here is what I do. Weigh your pour pot, make note of that. So, if I know that my batch needs 32 oz of wax and my pour pot weighs 8.6 oz then my pour pot (filled with wax) should weigh 40.6 oz. See what I mean? Works every time.
  9. Well the ECO 10 is a bit out of my comfort range, I only use ECO wicks on tough to wick FO's and containers, on our 4" containers i only use CD's. So, sorry not much help in the ECO area, but here is the link to where we get our CD wicks, and looks they they offer on roll http://www.candlesandsupplies.net/Candle-Making/CD-8-Heinz-Coreless-Wick hope this helps.....
  10. Good idea on the new FO's, sorry, my only wick experience is with ECO and CD wicks. I will be interested to hear about your test....old FO vs. New (as long as everything else is the same) so you can see if there is any change using the old. I really hope you enjoy your first soy....464 experience...I am hooked!! Susan
  11. Sorry for the delay....on the road this week. OK, good information. We have ended up using only CD wicks, I didn't see where you indicated which wicks you were going to try, sorry if I missed that. We will use ECO's in smaller containers, but mostly CD. Right off the bat I would test a CD10 first, not sure if I would use your 8 year old FO's you can get some 2oz sizes to test. I get our GB464 wax from CS. We do not add anything to our 464, no color, additives, etc., it took a ton of testing different pouring temps. One of the best things, for me, is that you can pour the 464 at warmer temps and doing that has made a big difference. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions, I will try to help when I can. Have fun!
  12. Hi Mike, welcome! We've used only 464 from my start, MANY ups and downs but LOVE 464!! Let me see if I can give you a starting point, but I need a bit more information. Sounds like you've made candles in the past, is this your first try at 464 or soy for that matter? What have you tried so far? What wicks are you using? Jar type? As far as peaks and CS there are MANY here that use both, me included, they're both great IMO, for different things. Give me a bit more info and I can try to help you.
  13. Correct, each time I submitted a form (logo, and 2 labels) it cost me $50 per registration. The labels were different from our business logo, so thought this would be the best way to do it. Does that help you?
  14. Oh yes, I stopped it, but it took almost a month and WAY too much of my time. It would help if FB would make their users show that they OWN their graphics if they are going to have busniess sites. But, life goes on, it happens all the time. Now that we have everything registered all I need to do if it happens again and send an email to the Commonwealth and they handle it. Nice!!
  15. Oh yea, remember our "Gent Scents" ? black label yellow print, guy with mustache....Well it was brought to my attention from a customer, he gave me the site, which was a facebook page and BAM there was our label, exactly, right on this person page! He/she was able to "black out" our company name and location so that the basic lable remained. This was about 8 months ago or so I guess. Then I kicked into high gear!! PS Tracey - I even used my posts from this forum to show proof that they were ours, remember when I posted them to get your opinion, and other opinions from this forum?
  16. You are very welcome! We learned the hard way, won't let it happen again though
  17. I thought that I would copy this into a new thread, might help many people from PA that have had their hard work "stolen" from them. It was kind of lost in the thread where I posted originally: HayCreekCandles, OK, I am going to try to insert PA corporation website where it speaks to trademark registration in PA, you can find the pdf form there that you use to submit. If you need any help completing the form just let me know, I had to get some help from the Commonwealth, but got it done. FYI, we have done this not only for our company logo but each variation of our labels. Hope this helps. http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal...ademark/571894

  19. ENJOY! We've been using 464 since our start and LOVE IT, its beautiful. We had a ton of frustrations with it but didn't give up. We've never used performa wicks but I can tell you that we settled on CD wicks for all jar candles and ECO for our tins. Hope you love 464 as much as we do! We have, through trial and error, developed a cooling/curing precedure that helps prevent most of things like pits, etc. So, if you need any help to get you through your testing with 464 just let me know, I will try to help. Just hang in there, you'll be happy that you did! Good luck and most of all HAVE FUN!
  20. WOW thanks for the kind words, after working in an all soy candle line (for years now) my creative juices were all but depleted when we decided to venture into soy lotions, so your words serve to "LIGHT THE FIRE" again....SO THANKS!!
