  1. Just an update....Robert, seems you were spot on!! Looks like its going to make it!! This is after another 4 hours (16 total) Thanks AGAIN!!
  2. Understood 100%, went back (and left my excitement behind) re-read the description and see your point. Thank you! I will test this one and see how it does, then try BC's
  3. A bit of an update on the NG tobacco FO. I did a q-tip test over night and finally, I am picking up more of a tobacco scent and less of the perfume type scent that I noticed OOB. Just wanted to share, the testing continues.
  4. Thank you. Absolutely I will continue the test, just get anxious with new containers.
  5. Thank you! I sure was hoping to hear that, you sound very sure, must have experience with this type (10 oz straight side) container. The photos do not even come close to how sharp these jars look, AND they have round plastic covers which help a ton! Do you happen to use GB464 as well? Just for educational purposes, is that what leads you to be so sure that it will clean up?
  6. Hi there.....GB464 soy. Pretty soft wax, its all that we use, so hoping soft enough to clean up. Do you agree? Thanks for taking a look!
  7. Hi there, I could use some objective opinions on this please. I'm leaning towards wicking up, I have a tendency to do that....but wanted to hear what others thought. This is a new container for me and hoped my tested "wick/jar" combination would work. Question is, do you think this is acceptable for after 8 hours? 4 hours yesterday and another 4 today? I of course will continue the test but was anxious to hear your opinions. Thank you very much!
  8. Sure, I'm happy to share. Allowing cure time I should be back with results this weekend or early next week. Fingers crossed
  9. This really made me giggle, thank you, needed a laugh in the late afternoon! The sister with "the nose" plans on using CS driftwood in one of her "brews", we'll see what she comes up with, scares me sometimes Will stay in touch on the tests.....Peace
  10. Great info rctfavr3!! Thank you. Yes, we're in the middle of testing our men's line right now. Going fairly well, catchy name, cool jars, labels, etc. but the scents are difficult for me. One of my sisters has "the nose" for deciding on the scents for our lines, I'm the tester 10/4 on the almond, I will do EXACTLY that and thank you again! We're using cedarwood alone and in one of our custom scents, love cedarwood, I get ours from MC, nice HT !! I will report back our test results on the tobacco testers, hope I have good news
  11. I'll be happy to let you know, I use GB464 if that helps. I am going to do (2) testers, one straight tobacco and one with a touch of cherry probably. Will let you know how it goes. I also will be testing NG's Tweed and Bay Rum too if you're interested.
  12. Good to know! I will press on with my testing, thank you!
  13. Hmmm, thank you for your opinion. I will hope that OOB..bad...in my soy....good. We'll see I've read so many posts on pipe FO's, can't seem to find Santa's pipe, and that did sound like what I am looking for. Need just a nice pipe FO, maybe a hint of cherry tobacco. My search continues! Thanks again
  14. Hello all!! Just received an order from NG in which I ordered the Tobacco FO. Anyone out there use this in soy...or really any candle? I'm asking this because OOB I am not getting the "tobacco" scent. I do not have much experience with NG FO's so I thought I would "bring it to the boards" Thank you!
  15. Well they're new to me So then which FO do you use, the one that is soap/lotion safe or the FO that is used for candles? Just curious, as I said, this concept intrigues me. Do you, have you made these Stella?
  16. Snowman, wow, very good information, sounds like you've had some experience (??) My objective is actually 2-fold, first to be sure that I am not infringing on anyone else and secondly, I've come with what I believe to be a pretty decent slogan for our new men's line of candles, so I would like to get my name on it to the extent that the law allows. Will we have the "sales to generate the dollars to enforce it" ? I hope so, but that remains to be seen. I am only doing the state registration for that reason, less expensive. If it seems the product will "take off" then we will go for a federal registration. Your information/insight is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  17. I must know from the experts here. I read this today about 11oz candles selling for $65 each, on the ingredient page it says 100% soy and then says this: "It's completely Biodegradable.............................non wax candle that melts into a Shea Butter Oil that you can moisturize your skin with...... I am really intrigued by this......anyone ever heard of this type of candle, one that you can use on your skin?
  18. WOW what a story! Have a blast at Disney and shame on HER. Thank goodness for heads up customers and BRAVO to you for going after her!! All the best to you in the future. Understood, I will for now register at the state level and WILL go national once we see the success of our men's line. Thank you again for your help and again, good luck!
  19. Wow what drag about the infringment!!! How were you able to find out? Good Luck....make them pay!! That's rotten!! We make only candles, the classification needed for the state registration IS the federal class designation, all the same. I really appreciate your help on this, IF you do find that this "Class 4" is the one to use would you mind either PMing me or posting here? Thank you again!
  20. Hmmm, really nice, both of them, but, I think it's too similar. What caught my eye right off the bat was the use of the same graphic, the hand with the pointing finger. I LOVE the font that you used on yours to make it look "stamped on" Do you think you could not use what appears to be "the stamp" and go with a look that appears "rubber stamped"? Know what I mean. You have a super look on your own, you really do!
  21. That sure is a tough one and I bet you are being harder on yourself than you have to be. What is it about this label that you like so much? Colors, fonts, graphics, layout, or simply type of label used? I think that can make a huge difference. I am POSITIVE that this happens more often than not because of all of the label printing companies out there offering printed labels that offer a portfolio of layouts to choose from, with all of the companies in this world trying to label their own products surely you will have one that looks very similar to another and there is nothing wrong with that because of the limited choices for "canned" professional labels. But, then again, I would have to say that an "in your face" reproduction of someone elses work is wrong. Maybe just upload and get some opinions, no one is going to fault you for trying, you've been very honest/moral about wanting to do the right thing and I commend you for that!!
  22. I was not sure either about patchouli, really would not know a good one or not, but my sister sure does and she picked MC Groovy Patchouli as the best in our soy wax. HTH
  23. Thank you, good thought. I did both the nationwide and state search, nothing close. I still need some advise on the "Class of Goods" the only definition I could find was this: Class 4 (Lubricants and fuels). Industrial oils and greases; lubricants; dust absorbing, wetting and binding compositions; fuels (including motor spirit) and illuminants; candles, wicks. If there is anyone that has applied for a trademark and is a chandler your help would REALLY be appreciated. Funkymonkey66 or Brenda (blt212) Do either of you know if this is the right classification of goods? TIA for any help Susan
