    Clamshells

that's the ones I use too. 1524. haven't had any problems with them.
  5. Thanks for the update jonsie. So its not the big bargain we were thinking ! I'm still wondering why the huge difference in suggested usage with Cajun saying use 1/8 tsp per pound where both BitterCreek and CandleScience suggest 1/2 to 1 tsp per pound. That's quite a difference.
  6. I'm sorry it took so long to get back to this thread !!! Yes it smells wonderful. Smells really clean and fresh. I can't describe the "notes" because my nose don't work that way. LOL But it's definitely worth trying out. I don't think you'll be sorry. I put it in Ecosoya PB and its very nice !!!
  7. WOW very small and no information available about the company ??? only 13 scents .... wish she had some sample sizes.
  8. I just poured Millcreek's new Artic Air into clamshells and OH MY WORD ! My whole house smells AWESOME !!!!!!!
  9. I don't care for the Scentsy tactics either but ... like em or not .... they are big, and growing, and have now gone international. They have broken into the European market, in the UK and Germany, and will continue to spread like a disease. This year they received an Entrepreneur Of the Year award in Utah and are apparently on track to hit half a BILLION in revenue for 2011 ! Bad tactics, rude consultants, and not so well scented Scentsy will no doubt be around for a long time... continuing to grow... and rake in the money !
  10. Good Lord !!!! It seems like every time I read a new (and tons of old) thread here I see yet another awesome scent I want to try that's recommended from yet another FO supplier. I have a list a MILE long of scents and suppliers I want to try. I will never ever make it through the list ... unless I win the lottery and get rich. LOL Jo
  11. I LOVE Dragon's Blood. I get mine from CS.
  12. Yes that helps alot. Guess I'll be placing an order with Candlewic this weekend. And yes, definitely on the UV inhibitor. I don't do wicks but I will still be easy on the amount. Thank you very much ! Jo
  13. well.... the Diamond White dye chips didn't do a thing. It's the exact same color as the ones I didn't add any dye at all too. Off white / ivory colored. Stella... do you use the white liquid from Candlewic ? And if so does it actually make it white ? I'm wanting to make my Baby Powder scented melts white ... not ivory colored.

    Clamshells

I get mine from eclamshell.com http://eclamshell.com/search_results.asp?PAGE=2&stock=1&catName=1500 scroll down to # 1524 875 in a case but the cost is way less than the others I've seen even with shipping. I'm in Texas too. Jo
  15. WOW ! Obviously I need to shop around more !!! My first UV I bought from BC south. Was pricey so I only bought the small bag. While looking through Candle Science I noticed theirs was much cheaper so started buying theirs. NOW I stumble on this thread and find Cajun is 10 BUCKS cheaper than CS on the 16oz pack. Guess who I'll be buying my next batch from ? Question though...... Both Bitter Creek and Candle Science suggest 1/2 to 1 tsp per pound of wax. Cajun suggests 1/8 tsp per pound. I use 1/2 per pound. How much do you all use ? Jo
  16. lol I had to go look it up too DPG --- Di-Propylene Glycol used for making incense and other scented oils
  17. The site says because of a bad supplier. If you have problems with a supplier.... shouldn't you look around for a better supplier ? Jo
  18. Thank you 2of7 and Scented. I already feel like I've been posting here forever ! LOL It's good to be home. Jo
  19. Thanks Stella. I may try the liquid white dye. I do use the UV inhibitor even on the uncolored stuff... on every batch I make. Don't want them fading. Anyone know the difference in Reddig glo Dye Chips and Diamond Dye Chips ? After what seems like hours and hours of searching on google for a white dye chip today I've finally managed to find two suppliers that have them. But they both call them Diamond Dye Chips. Look the same.... but not really much of a description on either site. Northstar Candle --- pack of 25 for $2.25 General Wax --- pack of 20 for $1.99 I decided to go ahead and order one pack from each company to see if one is better than the other or if neither was worth the purchase. LOL Jo EDIT...... I changed my mind.... decided to only order from Northstar Candle. Getting a two dollar pack from General Wax was going to cost almost 10 bucks in shipping... and there was nothing else there I wanted to buy. I found a couple of things at Northstar to make the order worth while so went that way instead. Will see how it comes out.
  20. I love colored too but I only do tarts.... not candles. Still I love all the pretty colors. My question is.... how do you get WHITE ? I use Eco PB and with no dye I get off white or ivory colored. I don't even bother using ivory dye when that's the color I'm after. I only use rediglo dye chips. Is there a supplier out there who offers WHITE dye chips ? Jo
  21. Brand new so can't post to the OT thread yet... but I wanted to say hello to everyone and say YAY !!!! I'm so glad this group is back open. Thank you Alan for changing your mind and deciding to keep it open. I have been reading and learning here for a long time but just never got around to joining. Was really sad to see the group disappear but very happy it's back. Jo
