  1. I searched and found some old discussion on lids for this glass but nothing ever came up as a definite fit for this particular glass. Has anyone found a lid for sale that would actually fit this? Closest thing to it is the Madison lids but if you go by diameter, they need 3" ones and the Libbey notes a 3 1/8" diameter. Thanks in advance for your continued support :smiley2: http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=c167,p1349&title=11-oz.-Libbey-Rock-Tumbler---NEW
  2. Anybody happen to test their scents in Ecosoya CB Advanced?
  3. I had heard Royal Aromatics was great as far as their scents and customer service. Trilogy has a huge library of scents so I am very interested in trying some of them. Sampling taking forever though could put a damper on that though. I believe I read somewhere that they have a 5lb minimum which is not that bad. I have heard some require much larger. If you dont mind Sharon, can you share what application you are using their scent for? If it is in wax, what kind and how the scent throw was? Thank you.
  4. The 50lb Ecosoya PB from Candlewic is almost 85.00.. That is quite a difference from CS
  5. Anybody else noticing the increases in some of the soy wax prices???
  6. Has anyone tried any FO from Trilogy Fragrances? If so what were your experiences? Thanks.
  7. This is right from their website "Due to its advanced technology, it is very important to work with the fragrance manufacturer to use fragrances specifically designed for and tested in CB-Advanced Soy. Please do not assume that a fragrance working in any other wax (soy or paraffin) will automatically work in CB-Advanced Soy. Refer to Appendix B for suggestions. Recommended maximum scent load is about 12%. To minimize scent loss, add scent prior to pouring but at a wax temperature no less than 135°F (57.2°C). Accommodate for temperature drop due to the addition of the cooler scent when targeting the pour temperature. Optimum hot scent throw is achieved with a full diameter burn pool at a depth of ¼ to ½ inch (0.6 to 1.3 cm). Some scents may react poorly causing bleed, objectionable frosting, or poor flame quality. Try a different scent or manufacturer to correct that occurrence." Below are fragrance houses that manufacture FO that has been tested in in their various products. That is what I am currently doing as I have yet to find a better looking soy than the CB Advanced. It is creamy and has a great afterburn look. I have tried 464 and it has great throw but in my opinion doesn't look as good as the CB Advanced. Each wax has its up and its downs. It is really up to you. http://www.ngiwax.com/resources/fragranceprogram.html
  8. Im currently working with a fragrance house that produces fragrance compatible with CBA. Do not think any FO will work with CBA. Its really hit or miss with HT unless you go this route. I have also tried the mixing of 464 and CBA and am still waiting on the cure. The appearance is great on them though and cold throw is quite nice. I am currently at around 5 days with the cure but intend to wait about 2 weeks. By no means do I encourage anyone to go this route, just sharing my experiments.
  9. Gee.. That would make sense.. So you are telling me I have been doing this wrong the whole time?? What would I do without all of you??
  10. The whole experiment of mixing them was to see if I could get the positive properties of hot throw from the GB 464 and the positive properties of appearance with the CB Advanced somewhat combined to make a fairly decent candle.. I do agree with you though and I will stick to one combination/type of wax from now on
  11. I made these votives last night and am just burning them now to check out the wick.. Burned nice and slow for the first 30 min and then burned a small tunnel very quickly and started pouring out the middle side of the votive.. Anyone ever encounter this?? I am using Ecosoya PB with HTP 52 and CS Honeysuckle at 6%..
  12. Well what do you know.. Most of these frangrance spots are in NJ.. Looks like I will be doing some more research and reaching out to these people.. Thanks so much for that information.. I actually did a GB 464 mix with the Advanced last night.. No frosting, great cold throw, and decent to nice smoth tops.. I will update on whether or not it has any hot throw after some time of cure
  13. Looking good.. I am assuming you mean 6% rather than .6%.. How is the hot throw for you on the Advanced and how long did you cure them to get a good hot throw.. I just poured one with Advanced.. Looks great and has great cold throw but no hot throw as of 5 days of cure.. Using an LX 22 wick in a 3" diameter jar.. Thanks
  14. Thanks Carol.. Advice is much appreciated!!
  15. Can anyone recommend a good sunflower FO for soy.. Using a GB 464 and an Ecosoya CB Advanced.. It is for a wedding so I will need the best of the best.. Thanks in advance
  16. I got a boatlad of scents during their sale.. Poured the Jamaican Me Crazy in orange color.. Blue Spruce smells good for a winter smell.. LOVE oakmoss and amber as well as Car Teakwood.. I will tell you that I continuously burn the blueberry cheesecake in my home.. It is a great smell
  17. I will test 50/50 and 75/25 on both ends to see which one works better.. Ill let you know
  18. Ok.. So I did my first pour with the Ecosoya CB Advanced and my preliminary results are that I LOVE it.. Call it beginners luck but for this FO and dye it truly is a one pour wax.. I must say these are my best candles produced to date.. I am not dead set on switching obviously as I have yet to burn it but as far as a poured product, I am quite impressed.. I will continue to test the Advanced with other dyes and FO's to see how the poured product turns out.. Just an FYI, I had to significantly increase the FO % as this is what is what is recommended as well as an increase in the dye %.
  19. Decided to give the 464 a try again and pour directly out of the presto pot (my thoughts here were the less handling and cooling due to handling the better) and then place candles in a covered box for 12 hours.. Wouldnt you know, after a little conditioning.. They are looking pretty good with minimal frosting.. FO was at 7% and doubled the dye content in this from earlier pours.. So it may not be a lost cause after all.. I did receive the Ecosoya CB Advanced today and I am going to give that a whirl on a few of my new scents tonight.. Will let you know my thoughts
  20. And I thought I was creative .. Great thinking!!! I have my notes for this one so I could recreate it but I am not sure if using the Watermellon FO would throw a wrench into it.. We will see!!! A friend told me my strudel and spice candle made them so hungry.. It was a great feeling to see their eyes light up and a nice "mmmmmmmm this is goooood!!"
  21. Welcome to the board.. I am quite new myself and find this board to be a great resource as well as filled with alot of wonderful people that share the same love for candles.. Do what you can when you are feeling well and whatever makes you smile.. Thats the key to happiness
  22. I am thinking this would fit best in my Halloween line.. Might pass for death in a jar.. Who would ever know that this smells up the entire room like cranberry :rolleyes2 One of these days it will all come together but I thought I would share this gruesome afterburn picture.. At least it smells good
