  1. Nobody can compete with Walmart. I don't see them as competition at all. It's annoying that they have to jump on every bandwagon and sell things cheap. The thing that Walmart doesn't have is YOU. Be the best customer service person you can be and knock their socks off. Walmart will never have that.
  2. Hopefully the soy additive will help with your frosting issues. It took me forever to choose a wax and then when I chose, I wanted a supplier close too. The closest was in Washington though. Shipping wasn't terrible.
  3. Aww, it does make me feel good. I am surprised mine turned out so good for my first try. I hope they smell as good as they look in a warmer. I am sorry yours aren't working out.
  4. I used to have a wholesale only scrapbook company. $700 is an amazing order! I didn't have minimum order amounts but I did have product minimums. They had to buy 3 of each. You could also require like $150 for the first order and a smaller or no amount for the next orders. You can sent up any requirements you'd like to make it worth it for wholesaling. Make sure you require a copy of their business license for tax reasons.
  5. I use an all soy blend and my finished product (I've only made 4) all weight 3.2 oz.
  6. Here's the Monkey Farts batch
  7. Lol. I can't stop thinking about all these scents I have here and when I'm going to be able to pour them and picking the color. But, I'm just going to do a few to see how the hot throw is. The cold throw so far is strong. The batch of Monkey Farts look and smell great as well. A big thanks to everyone on this board. I've been reading and reading information on here for the last 3 months and that's how I knew what to do.
  8. Thank you so much! I walked in from church today and my apartment smelled so good! I just poured a batch of Monkey Farts. I feel like I should be in a segment of Mr. Roger's or Sesame Street. You know, like when they showed how to make crayons?
  9. My jaw dropped when I opened this. They are amazing! Great job!
  10. Remember my post about being nervous to start? Here's the pics of them. I'm really proud for them to be my first! I only have a tiny spot of frosting on one of the clamshells I did. They are Black Raspberry Vanilla scented.
  11. Your set up is very professional! Looks great! I like your banner too, the font is very fun.
  12. It's the other way around. eclamshell you only have to buy 1 and panic you have to buy 2. My case (875 clamshells) from eclamshell was 132 including shipping
  13. eclamshell.com seems to have the best prices. I just got a case from there and I am happy with them so far. there is also panicplastics.com
  14. Thanks for complimenting the hair accessories shop. I do already have my Etsy and facebook going. I didn't want the name I chose for my shop to be gone. I guess I kind of feel like that too, like using them is wasteful. I guess it's part of doing something that is consumable. I took the plunge last night.!!!!!!!!!! I was so tired but decided to do it after being motivated by everyone. My first one, I used the scale wrong (I had a loooong day. lol.) So, I went to fill a clamshell and it only filled it half way. When I was weighing, I thought that it didn't seem like a lot of wax. Duh! When I finally weighed it right, I filled 2 clamshells and a 2 oz portion cups. I will post pics later because I am really proud of them! They look so pretty and I think they turned out well. Now, just to test them in a warmer.
  15. Thanks everyone! I'm just doing tarts, so no wicks to mess with. I have been gone all day and am wiped out. I'll probably get to start on Monday. Shanda- good to "see" you! I have been worried about ya!
  16. Oh yes, I already had a scale.
  17. Thanks for the kick. lol. I am definitely going to test, test, test! I have plenty of FO's to try. I didn't buy a kit, I bought supplies separately. I have Ecosoya Pillar Blend, Ecosoya XCEL, Clamshells, Portion Cups, Liquid Dyes, Fragrances, Presto Pot, Pour pots, digital thermometer.... hmmm, did I miss anything? lol. I have a busy busy weekend so hopefully I can make some time. Maybe late tonight after game night at church when all the kiddos are in bed.
  18. As of today, I have all my supplies for making tarts/melts. I have been so excited the last few months to start and now after researching and buying supplies, I can't get myself to start. lol. I am sitting here staring at everything. I have lots of friends chomping at the bit to purchase. I've already told them it'll be awhile and explained the testing process. Someone kick me in the rear!
  19. That's very exciting! Good luck! I'm sure they will sell really well.
  20. Congrats! I bet it felt great to get back at it. That's awesome that the wheat free diet is working.
  21. I got word today that they shipped. Hopefully they won't be out of stock for a long time.
  22. They will be hearing from me if you get some and I didn't! LOL. FedEx just delivered my Presto pot!!! Now all I'm waiting for are the clamshells and the portion cups!
  23. I should. lol. I thought about taking a picture of it and emailing them. It just struck me as so funny.
  24. My supplies are coming, my supplies are coming!!!!! I cannot wait to get started. So far I've received my FO's (with more on the way,) wax, pouring pots and dyes. Someone had written on my box from Lonestar. "The Donuts R HERE!". It cracked me up. There were no donuts in my box.
  25. I recognized the label and yup, they sell on Etsy too. Selling for only $2.75.
