AWESOME!!! .....and to echo what everybody else has said, those mottles are fabulous! I wish mine were that consistent......

Perfect rustics like always - Good Job E

Candlelovr is correct! You can make the chunks with 4625, but for an overpour it would not work too well as the wax it is pretty much opaque.
-
Keep it up!!! With the pillars, it is always hard to tell from the first burn what to expect all the way through. You need to do a few 3-4 hour burns in order to say exactly how it will turn out.
Good luck.....

Hey what about us women folks? Does candlemaking help us get lucky? I need to know cuz my ole man peaked.

.... I have been making candles for about a year and prefer parraffin IGI 1274 mottling wax, I love the way it looks in the jars.....
You're using 1274 in containers???? You do know that its meant for pillars and votives?!?!?!?

I always get a confirmation email, although sometimes it does take about 24 hours. Then I get a UPS notification email when shipped, and that is sometimes a day or two after I've ordered.

OMG! All the time..... I see someone wearing a shirt with a certain color combination and I start imagining a candle with those colors........ I even look at colors and wonder what scent would match the color perfectly!!!! :rolleyes2

In my opinion, you can never have too many FO's ...... it's just a b!+ch to test them all....... LOL

Pier1 was selling candles like that about a month ago. Called something like "Seabreeze" or "Sea-" something. They were blue vertical chunks with a white overpour. Looked really nice, and something I intend trying at some point.
Edited: Okay, I got it wrong, - they were from World Market and this is what they look like.....

i had added 20% stearic acid to the weight of the paraffin.
WOW - That sounds like a lot to me too. As Geek said, a lot depends on the type of wax you're using, and the wick size. If you can give us more information we can help you a little better.
As far as getting a completely self-consuming candle - it's not impossible, just takes a lot of testing, and patience......
Stearic Acid

As far as I know 4045H is a blended wax. By that I mean that it is a blend of different paraffin, but does not have any additives. You would still need to add your stearic, or vybar etc.
Stearic is generally used to harden the wax and make your candles burn better. It also tends to make the candle more opaque at higher percentages. For rustics it does help to produce some of the frosting. For mottles it helps to stabilize the candle and allow for greater fragrance load.
