  1. Pita ~ So you got 3 days HT from the slab tart wax as well as the pellet tart wax? Could I ask which type/brand warmer you used? I'm still wondering if that may be where some of the vast differences in HT longevity are coming from. I used a Scentsational and got one full very strong 12+ hr day. Day 2 there was still HT but it had diminished significantly. I didn't try a day 3.
  2. That is a great find Chandler. Thought I'd click into a few of the places so started with Soap Goods. Clicked on their Almond Biscotti and it is $48.16 for 16 oz. It shows sold out. Wonder if it is that great of a FO or just one they aren't stocking much of. Applejack Peel is $23.70 for 3.4 ounces.
  3. lol Just ran downstair to check on that. I don't think they are. Tried squeezing them together and there is no stick at all.
  4. JaJC....I think we should resume that quest. I don't know why my pellets are smaller than everyone else's. Ravens ~ So far, I am getting one good day HT from TCS each using 4633, 4627, and 25% each of 4630/415. The second day has HT but it is much lower than the day before. I used the same full size Scentsational warmer for all three in the same room. Oh, FO is AH Toasted Marshmallow at I think 6%. There is a chance the scale was off. It's been returned, picked one up yesterday and have another on its way to see which is better along with a calibrating weight.
  5. This is what mine look like. Also, got me a new scale today so will be making up more blends with this to see if I can get more than a day of HT.
  6. I have to leave for a little bit soon. Depending how the day goes, I may join in the search this evening to try to find the twin wax out there somewhere. After all this testing, if we do settle on TCS, we need to know where to go as a backup plan.
  7. It isn't really funny but I can't stop laughing because it's so true! The way I can tell is if someone comes through a room or in the house and comments on the scent. If no one comments, then I know we have a little problem.
  8. I have this stuff and don't think they are the same. Tried the KY 133 once and it's sat since. Interested to try it JaJC? Ravens? FS? Anyone? I've been wondering about my TCS wax. Those that have the pellets would you say they are pastilles? Mine are a definite pastille form.
  9. I'll try not to get you started again but think you just got me started. Thankfully, I have 4625/4630 or I'd be adding another blend to the list. Yes, it does sorta remind me of 4786 with good HT yet one with a relatively higher MP than many of the others. The 4794 does have my wheels turning though. I believe I could not get HT past one day with that wax alone or as a base. Sometimes I find different results when revisiting a wax and spending some time with it. Here we go.......
  10. lolOnce I saw your link, they are not the same when looking side by side. Sure hope they are genuine or I may be forced to buy them from an extended family member.
  11. I'm with you there! So many waxes to try; then taking all those waxes and putting into different combinations is crazy. Just last week I did 13 different combos and still haven't gottent to 4786 (which I have here) or 4794 (don't have here). I'm not as recently familiar with 4794 but do agree 4786 is a very good wax for HT.
  12. I already ordered one but I'm a little worried. So many are selling them yet say they are not Scentsy distributors, not affiliated in any way. I'm hoping they are past distributors with left over stock and not imitations of the genuine product. Then I found this in a downloadable image search that I think might be the same shape as Scentsy....maybe.
  13. I did not know this about Scentsational being sued by Scentsy. I've never tried a Scentsy or Scentsational tart. I do have a couple Scentsational warmers and a Scentsy on the way. My plan this week is to get a Scentsy clamshell from eBay here so I know what the competition is, how long they last compared to mine, etc. That way I know for sure whether or not I can say mine last longer or are stronger.
  14. One of the reasons I did like working with 464 was because it would take a higher fragrance load for those scents that were too good to pass up yet a little on the weak side in a candle. Can't remember why but I went with 415 instead. On the paraffin side, I think 4627 will take 12% also.
  15. Wow! Yeah, that's pretty high. Wonder if they put additives in the wax to get it to hold that much. Since they started out in a home like most of the rest of us, I always think they must be using one of the waxes, or wax blends some of the rest of us are using, trying or passed up in testing. Unless they are so big now they have liquid IGI brought in.
  16. OK..Now I have hope again I thought it was a proprietary wax but seeing they get it from somewhere, maybe not.
  17. No, no....it can't be different. We are all right smack in the middle of testing this mysterious wax. What kept throwing me is they would send out slabs and/or pellets. In the back of my mind it was nagging me that if they changed the formula, why did they not change it all instead of some. I think a phone call is in order. I can't call tomorrow...getting a tooth pulled but provided I can talk Tuesday I am.
  18. Me too! Maybe a call to TCS is in order. This is what Ravens said way back on page 1 or 2 of this thread: But she received slabs so we still don't know.
  19. In my old melt blend, before testing about ten new blends, I'd put more FO in tarts than I would in candles. With candles too much FO can mess up the wicking. But I've evolved in the concept of more FO percentage in melts because I don't want people to be blasted with overly strong scents walking into a room or someone walking into the house. To me, it is just too much of a good thing. I'm searching for an even, semi-strong HT for about 2 solid days and then dwindle into the 3rd day. Had it once but decided the grass might be greener. So far, it is not. I am another who found the concentrated FOs like CC will totally change their scent if the percentage is too high. One I love is White Peony Tea. I did a candle using over the recommended amount and it was completely distorted to where it went from a beautiful scent to a disgusting scent.
  20. Well, the good news is you got in. I was using FF 12.0.
  21. lol. New one on me. Don't know if this will help but here is the link from my browser. http://thecandlemakersstore.com/weekly-specials/week-10.html
  22. Just tried it now and got in OK.
  23. Thank you so much. I will PM you.
