  1. How long do you normally have your votives lit before you start noticing scent throw? I have had mine lit from 2:30 til now which is 6:10 my time. The sex on the beach (from BCN) is doing well, Baby powder (from candle source) is perfect, it threw scent almost right away and is strong. Cinnamon bun from BCN is not throwing scent well. Its the eco vb wax, and rrd 34 wicks. They are burning well. But just wondered how long it normally takes all of you before you notice the scent throw and if your customers normally tend to let them burn for long amounts of time or just let them burn for a little bit here and there.
  2. ok that sounds like a good idea, ill do the q-tip thing first.
  3. You could always try it and see how it would work for you :smiley2: I havent because I was worried reheating it when it already is scented would make it less fragrant. So I never tried it. But maybe you might like it...never know til you try.
  4. Have any of you ever smelled palmolive dishsoap, the aromatherapy kind in Lavender ylang ylang. I LOVE that scent! If I mixed Lavender and ylang ylang, what do you think the ratio would be. Thanks!
  5. www.thecandlesource.com has sugared cranberries its really good!
  6. Hi Henryk, Did the votives with the lx14's have a better scent throw than the 12's? I would think the 12's would burn longer but if the scent throw was better with the 14's then I might choose that one to test first. What do you think?
  7. LOL thanks. Yes I vividly express everything haha. Well, I was told to try rrd34's so I did, and so far everything Ive tested in votives now throw scent! Baby powder, sex on the beach, lavender vanilla...etc. They burn evenly now too thank goodness. But they look like crud cause of the cracking. So....i will be trying the ky votive pillar wax next lol. Once I figure that out I am going to move on to containers. Was thinking of the ky puresoy or the ezsoy from BCN. So..... glad that you all are willing to listen to me vividly express my emotions. Cause I will be here to do it often hehehehe.
  8. I have the wicking down, i can smell my votives, they are throwing well. However, my votives are STILL getting those round circular cracks around the outer edges and now they have these little holes. What the heck is the deal????? How come some people can use this stupid wax with good results and i cant lol. now that i got it to where the wicking is right and the scent throw is good, the stupid candles dont look good. little holes and cracking every single time. Ive poured at temps between 120-175 and i still get cracks. UGH!!!!!! I think it might just be time to move on LOL. Ill use it up and try something else. Do you all that use the ecosoya vb have some kind of secrets or something as to how you make it work? lol
  9. Hi everyone. I got 10 lbs of the ky votive pillar wax and was wondering what a good starting point would be for wicking standard size votives. I found the rrd34s are working for the ecosoya vb, but they are still cracking all the time which is why i want to try a different wax. Would the ky votive pillar wax need the same size wick rrd 34 or maybe smaller? I was just wondering if any of you use the ky wax and what size wicks you use before I order so I can get an idea of what sizes to get. I am liking the rrd wicks so far. Thanks in advance!
  10. Well, I am definately impressed with her getting back to me, even though it had been a while, it was nice of her to let me know what happened. I had not planned to ever order from them again because of my experience there, so she may have changed my mind. I will try what shes sending me and see how those work. But the berry bramble, and blueberry I didnt like at all. The blueberry smelled awful. The strawberry was weak also. Watermelon was ok. But I am using soy, so maybe those just dont throw the best in soy?? I am not sure. But I will see how the next ones work. Have any of you all used the berry bramble, strawberry, blueberry or watermelon from them in 100% soy?
  11. Well, I had complained a while back about Supplies 4 Candles. I had ordered some oils and i didnt like the way a couple of them smelled, and then the worst part was that when I emailed them 4 times...there was no response. However, I just got a phone call tonight, and its been a while! From Supplies 4 Candles and she told me she just saw a post from me that I wasnt satisfied and she was sorry they didnt get my emails. I guess they had been having some trouble with emails in the past. So, she said she wanted to send me out some free oils to try. WOW that was nice!!! I told her that i had heard they were excellent with customer service and that other people had good luck with there oils. But I wondered since I had not heard anything back. But that was so nice of her. Anyway they did call back, and she was so nice to send me more to try. So If I like whatever she sends me I will definately buy from them again!! :smiley2:
  12. Hehehe this is funny. I wondered how many people are really addicted to this. It is an addiction! I love it! When you all get a box do you sit there and open each bottle of oil and sniff each one? I do and my baby girl always stands there and says "mell mommy mell" meaning she wants to smell it LOL. So we both smell each oil! LOL I love getting boxes in the mail!!!!
  13. Hi everyone! I was searching but couldnt find much of anything. I was wondering for those of you who have tried fo's from the scented bean, which ones have you tested in soy and which do you really like and dont like? I just got some samples and really like what I got OOB so far. Havent tried them yet, but they are Hazelnut Coffee, Raspberry Cream, Carmelized Pear, Vanilla Dreams, Strawberry Shortcake, and Mango Medley. I won the contest for August and got 6 of the TWO ounce oils for free!!! I was so happy! LOL
  14. She doesnt take paypal though, and all of my supplies monies are in paypal at the moment
  15. Who has tried this one? :smiley2: How does it compare to the yankee macintosh apple, i love the way that one smells. Is this the same, better, different? Also, does Just Scent normally include the 3 samples with each order or sometimes do they not? Thanks!!
  16. good idea, i might try that! that way there isnt so much heat. Thankyou!
  17. When you remelt candles, is it going to lose some scent because you have to remelt it and cant really add more oil if you are already at the max for what you added already. Will they be less fragrant?
  18. When I had a website in the past, I called my votives that had whipped toppings and little chocolate chips on the top..Chocolate kiss votives. Because they were scented in the scent Hersheys chocolate. Well, i got a letter saying I needed to change the name lol. Hehe. I cant believe lil ole me was something for them to worry about LOL.
  19. In your experience, do you all think that a spicier pumpkin pie fragrance sells the best for you? Or one thats truer and less spices? I HATE spicy! lol And I found a pumpkin vanilla I really like that to me smells like pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top. YUM! I like that one, but just wondered if the spicier version sells better? What do you all think?
  20. I havent tried them yet, just got them ordered, but Indescent gave me advice to try rrd 34's in the votives with the vb. She said they work great for her. So as soon as i get them i will try them and let you know. At first i was having nothing but problems, but so far ive gotten the tarts mastered now. You wouldnt think that would be difficult, but it was because i had to keep pouring at different temps to see what would keep me from getting cracks. So far, it looks like 140 seems to be the best. Then they have smooth tops, no cracks. I have noticed if i try to rush it and put them in the freezer to pop out faster they definately will crack almost instantly. Guess its a kinda picky wax LOL. So when I get the wicks I will let you know how they work. Maybe try pouring around 140 and see if that works.
  21. Yeah in my opinion I think tarts are stronger but i think container would be a close comparison. But yeah my favorites that just were so strong I could stand to cut back, were the honeysuckle, downy, sunwashed linen, J&J's soothing lavender and spring rain. I loved those! They were just extremely strong! I will let you all know when I try them in votives.
  22. Ok so far this is what I have tried, and they were only in tarts so far: I use ecosoya VB and average 10% FO Baby Powder -Strong!! Downy -VERY STRONG!! Toasted Hazelnut -Medium Strength Probably wouldnt try that one again Coconut- AWFUL! Does not smell like coconut at all, didnt even use it. Cinnamon Stix- STRONG Monkey Farts- STRONG Honeysuckle- VERY strong! Sunwashed Linen- VERY strong! Blueberry Cheesecake- Strong Butt Naked- Strong! J&J's Soothing Lavender -VERY strong! Vanilla Crunch- Strong but i dont care for this scent Spring Rain- VERY Strong!!! Black Raspberry & Vanilla- Strong The coconut is horrible....and the hazelnut is ok. The rest were awesome!!!! HTH
  23. Bittercreek north has rusted ones, zinc, whitewashed and black i think...its in the containers section under lids and cappers. They are reasonably priced. Hope that helps! http://secure.candlesupply.com/search_category_main.cfm?queries_index=index6&ProductCodeID=47
