I use j-223 and have for the past three years and add nothing but fo and color but i also only use peaks fo,s in my containers unless its a scent someone has bugged me for and peaks dosent have it. Beleave me when i first started i had alot of problems and kept changing waxes, fo,s etc until i started useing peaks fo,s and the problem was solved. Ive bought alot of fo,s that just are not very strong and ill bet this is your problem. My customers cant beleave how great their candles smell. Try one of peaks fo,s and let the container sit for a week, then test it and i bet your smell a difference,lol.Lin

That dosent look like black soap to me either. I e-mailed them to ask why it looks blue so ill let you know what they say. It dosent look like african black soap to me at all. Lin

I saw a regular taper mold awhile ago that was metal and you could make 2 or 3 tapers at the same time. Anyone know where i might find this again. It was a one piece mold.Thanks Lin

I whip mine to and melt just a little to help it whip better and i use fo,s because i like the unrefined and so do my customers but they prefer mostley the scented as they dont like the smell of the shea alone. I would do a little of both ways and see what you sell the most of. I sell very little straight shea but i keep a few around just in case. I also picked five fo,s and those are my scents and i just change to the best sellers. My top sellers are sweet pea, vanilla, rose bouquet, lavendar, and freesia. I dont make anything by requests unless its a true steady customer as you can go crazy plus the exspense. You cant smell the shea at all with the ones i mentioned here. Lin

The molds were from candlewick and i did of coarse call them but they had to get back to me and im waiting. Thought in the mean time someone here might have all ready used them . Lin

Does anyone have a clue how to get the wick threw these things? I purchased two 10" taper molds and it says its supose to have slits in the side but dosent. They have like seem marks so i slit one of them half way up to be able to pull the wick threw but now the darn thing leaks. I rubber banded it but it still seems to leak. HELP. Lin

Well ive done the hp for awhile now but i decieded to do a couple of the cp as everyones looked much creamier than mine and im hooked. I find the cp soaps look alot better than the ones done the hp way. What i liked about the hp was you can use it right away, but with the cp you should wait at least a month to use. I would try it both ways and see for yourself which you like better. Lin

If its been hot and melted a little it will turn color, just keep it where its cool. I had to put mine in the fridge due to the heat. Lin

Just thought id share for anyone new trying cp, that my problem was that it was to hot, causeing it to flow out of the mold like lava,lol. Thanks to Cindym and your help i think i made a good batch and will try and post later. Lin
