Here is a problem you may run across in NY- Most home insurance policies will not cover losses due to business affairs... if they do it will be on a very, very limited basis. Some companies will not insure a home if you run a business in it, even if there are no clients coming to the home. The only way to know for sure is to read your policy declarations. After doing that I would contact your agent and ask them about limitations for home businesses. They may offer a rider you can add, or, the policy may just exclude business related claims. However, I have not seen a policy that lists liability due to business affairs as a covered peril. I have been a licensed property and casualty agent in NY for years.... Hmm, I have been wanting to try Lonestar because I have heard such good things... candle cocoon- have not heard that much about them but am on their site now... Also, looking for a better Love Spell- currently use Peak but not thrilled with it....:undecided

I am looking for Sweet Pea and Cucumber melon for 4630, J50 and 4794. I have tried Peak, Candlemakersstore and candle science... I am not getting the HT that I want for sweet pea! For the cuke melon i use Aztec but still, not as strong as I want. Any recs? Even the CT is not that strong... I have tried increasing the % but it doesnt seem any better and these have been cured for quite a long time....

Hmm, wondering how this new cake FO compares to Peak Birthday Cake:shocked2:? B Day cake is a big favorite! Someone noted that it is similar to very vanilla.... i was a little disappointed with Very Vanilla... I had high hopes for it!

OK so I recently was given a bundle of terrace/elevation jars, but no lids.... Any ideas as to how to use these? I currently use labels, but should I consider little 'necklaces' ? It would be great to use these as they are 5oz and 16 oz.... Another question- I did receive some 'old fashioned' lids that could be used with both 5oz and 16 oz jars (just a few) but they seem to have rust on them, or maybe discoloration. The lids are very smooth, but they are partially rust colored so I assume it is rust. These are the caps that have the little 'handles' on them. I wonder if I can paint these or something similar so I can use them? Just wanna be sure that I don't paint them with something flammable!!

Yes, I love my presto pots! Having installed the spigots.... priceless! I feel your pain, I put my finger iin the wax in the pour pot yesterday- OUCH, and spilled liquid dye on my floor about an hour ago lol....

Well.... baby powder, cinnamon stick, clean cotton, coconut, cucumber melon, mac apple, peach, creme brulee, cool citrus basil, cotton candy, banana nut bread, bird of paradise (I have NEVER tried this scent before... out of the bottle it smells niiiice! ), sweet pea, love spell, lavender vanilla, himalayan bamboo, pumkin souffle, christmas tree, very vanilla and buttercream. I have bamboo from Aztec and I really like it, but CS bamboo seems a little sweeter, not as woodsy.... Not too sure if I like cool citrus basil at all though....

Yay! My candle science order just came in! I ordered a bunch of 1oz FOs to test, this is my first time trying their FO. I am so excited to see how they do in my wax!! I have heard good things about them and hope to see for myself! Any particular favorites?

Ok update- So the 1st FO I used was the culprit! As you all know some scents get stuck in your nose and BLAM! You think everything is CRAYONS! Clearly this is not a FO that I will ever use again. I didn't even think iit could be the FO because who would sell that? It should be named Crayola, or Rose Art.

I will have to do that. Clearly my nose does not work like it used to, BUT... worrying that everything smells like crayons.....?! SCARY!! haha Thanks for your response!

:confused:Just received another shipment of 4794, made a bunch of batches of votives with it. Every scent I made smells like crayons! Ok well the first scent smelled totally like cherry Chapstick... the other batches of scents that I made smelled like the fragrances, BUT, I felt like they all smelled of crayons. Could this be my nose? Could it be the new wax (I have used it before)? I have never had this happen before...!

Hm, I wonder if they have any disclaimers regarding this on their website? I don't like that they have not responded to you at all. I was just looking into their FOs because of the prices but have heard the strength is not the greatest. How do you like them so far?

Just wanted to extend a thank you to everyone for their info on everything! Had some stuck wick pins and stuck them in the freezer for a few minutes... came right out of the votives!! Like a charm!

I know what you mean about time saving... but, I think the look with the cloth is much more appealing than just the container! I love that country- bumpkin look! Depending on just how long it takes to do this, consider that it sets you apart from the other plainer candles! Just my thoughts...

Some candles are only scented on the top, so when you smell them initially they smell great, but as they burn.... well, not so great... much cheaper because you do not use nearly as much FO... When I found this out, I wanted to scream!!

It can be hard to determine what glass can hold certain temps... a lot are not designed to be used with anything hot, especially with the temps we pour at! Babyface, where in NY are you?

It sucks that a lot of people don't realize these candle are GROSS....*faint* How is anyone even making money?
