  1. I have used 4630 for tarts, but really only for experimentation... holy fingerprints!! unless you package them right away they are mushy! And DO NOT stack them together, you will have problems pulling them apart... or, just make sure the scents you stack smell good together!!
  2. OK, so with the current costs of shipping, how do I still see either flat shipping ($7.95 shipping per order) or free shipping with $50, etc...? I guess for the free ship with a minimum purchase you have the wiggle room that should cover the shipping costs, BUT, A small, flat shipping charge? Candles and B&B are heavy items so how do small at home businesses get away with offering that and not taking a huge hit? By weighing/measuring my items I do not see how flat ship at such a small price would be possible....? Thoughts?
  3. I have Aztec sandalwood, I love it! So many sandalwoods make me wanna throw up !lol
  4. Hi everyone, looking to get into the SFIC M&P co op... What is popular? I am looking at low sweat clear, low sweat white and shea... any board preferences>? Thanks!
  5. Welcome, you will have much fun here!
  6. Hi, I'm not so sure that it looks, quilted... Looks like a design, but not quilted to me.
  7. Hi everyone, need help.... I have what looks like mold on the inner lids of my candle jars! It is like, white specks. Only on certain scents, though. I used the same batch of jars and wax, dye, etc. It is almost a cloudy look, but nothing on the wax, just the jar. Can the ingredients cause mold? Is this even mold?? It seems regardless of where in my house they are kept, this happens. I have never seen this before, just started happening in the last 2 weeks. You would not believe how unhelpful the search function is when you search for "candle" and "mold" LOL. Ideas>??
  8. To me, Peak's GP smells like tomato plants! I actually hate it! The best GP I have found is Aztec... It smells sweet like a fresh peach....
  9. Welcome to the board! I was a lurker for quite a while too....!
  10. Very nice looking! The tart colors look great!
  11. Hmm, yes I must not have been too smart... the phone number is like, the 2nd thing you see on the site....
  12. Hmm, their site looks really... unfinished. Did not see a phone number listed either. The price is very good, but I could not find shipping charges...
  13. I do not use the dye chips anymore because of the specks! I switched to liquid and am so happy that I did. I did not have any mess problems, but can see how some might. I would recommend getting dye with a dropper style top and not just one with a pointy top. I like that it is so easy to mix shades to get your perfect color! HTH
  14. This is also a popular scent for me. Also, Sandalwood is a great scent- very natural.
  15. Hm, is this the one that smells like J'adore?
  16. Yes, that is actually very helpful! I was not sure of the difference, and heard that the premad bases from candlemakersstore and BCN were good... so I got both to try. THANKS! No:laugh2:t sure I will try cycle as I do not see a benefit worth the price difference!
  17. This is caused by specs of the dye chip. More noticeable in dark/bold colors. They are not dissolved, but it seems to me like sometimes those specs seem dissolved, but really are not- it is hard to tell because it is all the same color. I stopped using chips and switched to liquid dye. :smiley2:
  18. Should your homeowners insurance not cover you (for liability and/or your products and/or damage resulting from your business (like you burn your own house down!!)- you would need to contact a broker who writes specialty insurance. Similar to how many companies do not want to cover products liability for chandlers due to the high risk, home insurance companies do not want to have this risk, either. Brokers work with multiple companies and should be able to find you a policy that can cover you. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, any questions, feel free to PM me. BTW, I am in the Albany area and got several products liability quotes, from multiple brokers... These policies did cover my supplies/products for loss or damage in addition to my liability. HTH:highfive:
  19. OK, so it seems that for packaging candles, poly pro bags are the way to go, while polyeth are not good as they can suck the smell out. OK, but, for packaging body sprays, it seems the recommendation for bottles is PET... Am I wrong that PET is poly eth?? Wouldn't that suck the smell out of the body spray? I am confused as it seems that I should not use PEY bottles for body spray packaging, yet that is what most of the spray bottles are made of...! HELP!!
  20. Although this is a straight coconut, I do not care for it.... It smelled way to light and just did not do it for me. I use coconut from candlemakersstore and my customers looove it! Not at all hawaiiantropic-y, but just a great coconut... HTH
  21. I am not sure of the difference between a body spray base and cyclo? It seems like they both do the same thing... but cyclo is much more expensive...? They both seem to just require mixing with FO/dye and they are ready to go...? Can someone shed some light on this for me?
  22. My boyfriend was like, who would want to smell cucumber melon?? But when he smelled the FO OOB, he said it smelled sooo good he wanted to eat it! He tells everyone how it smells sooo tasty! lol:laugh2:
