  1. Just got Lemon Danish from them yesterday! Smells nice and lemony! Also had to get a small sampler of Mary Jane... the smells dead on so long as your nose isnt right in the bottle. Hubby went with me to the pickup a order and I was sniffin and he was sniffin.. said this is really grassy and green smellin... smell it... so I sniffed without readin the label.. and said Of course it green smellin... Ummmmm it smells like POT! I was laughin at him...lol pix
  2. What is a good number of scents to offer for candles and bath n body products. Right now, I have about 40. But I wonder if that is like giving a customer too many choices. And how to decide what scents to not offer.. I personally love them all but 1 0r 2...lol pix
  3. I never thought about $1 a ounce.. never once popped in my head.. I need to raise my prices... I charge 8.00 for 16oz jelly jars! Maybe thats why hubby looks at me like I have 3 heads when I say I need more stuff, I'm forgetting to pay myself pix
  4. I must admit, I'm quite a bit ticked off! I placed a order with them on 3/9 got a email stating they recieved my order and payment on 3/11. My molds and stuff would be mailed in 4-7 days. I've sent 2 emails to them... no response.. today makes 3 wks since I placed and paid for it.. It just burns my butt that they took the payment and if anything was backordered that they didnt have the courtesy to send me a email to let me know.. pix
  5. Thanks everyone with the help! Glad someone told me about the side walls... otherwise I would have tested 30 or more just trying to get it to burn down.. pix
  6. Vicky, I'am burning it way down into the glass.. but expected it to melt in with the rest of the gel, before it was below the halfway mark. Does that make sense? I may just be used to way votives burn all the way down, without the side layer. Wendy, I can move/hold the glass, with it burning at the half way mark. and it is warm, rather like coffee that has sat in a mug for about 20 min. I'll have a look at the website I ordered them from and see what the measurements are. This is pretty thick glass and to me it is a kinda thick skin around the inside. I'd never heard that there should be a skin around the inside of the glass, before.. but it does make sense so that the glass doesnt get soo hot. Thanks, pix
  7. I bought a bunch of those cutesy 4 oz flower pots. I've tried a reg votive wick, 44-24-18Z, not a big enough flame, and the sides didnt burn down as I wanted.. so I went to a htp-73.. then a htp83... then a htp93, and I'am still getting the problems with it leaving gel on the sides.. any suggestions or has anyone else experienced this.. thanks, pix
  8. Yummy! Thats look soo real, one of them candles I couldn't bring myself to burn. Awesome Job!!! pix
  9. Love the flower lids, those are soo pretty! Like the look of your labels on the votives.. look alot like the ones I seen on Neiman Marcus's site. Classy! pix
  10. With the type that the embeds just sit on the bottom, I think really anyone could do them. I'm suspended challenged right now..lol, but getting the hang of it. Unfortunatly(sp), yesterday I decided that I would sit this candle on the seperator between my house and the another house.. I pushed it back a bit too far and it crashed and broke all over the neighbors back porch.. it went to sea heaven. Luckily the gel cushioned the embeds.. pix
  11. I get a awesome hot and cold throw with 0.7 oz per pound of Cappuchino (I can never spell that right!) Hazelnut. I just loveeee that one from Peaks. Only one I *gag* over is French Vanilla & Amber.. it's very strong to me at 0.3 oz per pound! pix
  12. If you place a candle in the freezer for about 30-40 minutes, it will burn longer without the wick absorbing alot of moisture. BUT, It really doesnt burn all that much longer, maybe a hour at most. But then you have people, who forget its in the freezer, grab it out, and wonder why as it starts to warm up, it cracks... So I dont really see the whole point of freezing them, it's not worth a extra hour burn time.. and then you could have a cracked or broken candle. JMO, pix
  13. Ohh Miss Molly!!!!! You have me thinking SPRINGG!!!!!!!! The more I see the chunk candles, the more I adore them! You did a wonderful job :highfive: with that candle... what did you scent it with? pix
  14. Thanks, I did put it in the window, though now the sun isnt that great .. go figure! Yes, it's a votive holder in the center. And it didn't take any patience with this one, since all the embeds are placed on the bottom and I just poured the gel atop of them.. =) pix
  15. This one worked out a bit better for me, because all the embeds were supposed to stay on the bottom... Still a bit more bubbles than I want though.. pix
  16. But dont they come in pellets? Mine do at any rate and I cant see my poor chopper trying to break them up into bits, I think the salts would win that battle with bent blades..
  17. So natural and pretty! I love them. pix
  18. Thanks Cheryle and Hank! After getting a PM on this... it smacked me in the head.. and of course I felt like a twit! Sometimes the answer is right in front of you and your brain just farts it away! pix
  19. Cheryl, I had heard of using fishing string and the dental floss. Though I must admit, I'm having a stoopid moment, if you tie the floss or string round the loop to get it stay attached to the fish, then once the gel has cooled, how will you be able to pull it out without pulling the fish up and out as well. I had even thought that if I attach the string to the fish with a dab of gel, then putting that in.. but then I was thinking the gel is going to still be warm, it will melt the string right off the fish.. then I'd be stuck yet again trying to place the fish in there.. Confused..lol I'am pix
  20. Hi Kenzie, I love the look of those green pillars!!! Beautiful color!
  21. Not only because they are such a pain in my rear to do in the first place, but mainly because I do them sooo badly. I made one yesterday, I forgot to strip off the coating on the wicks! Too many bubbles and now the white from the coating. Sooo, I popped it in the oven... thinking that by some miracle, the bubbles would disappear and maybe, just maybe the coating would sort of blend in. I forgot I had the candle in the oven... DH, comes down as I'am shrink wrapping some soaps... did you get that candle out of the oven... OMGolly!!! I forgot! Grab it out of the oven, looks wonderful and clear.. cept for the fish that are all sunk to the bottom.. so grab them out, wait for it to cool, get them back in finally.. today... still have the white thing going on.. and still too many bubbles (cause my 1 lil fish, I kept trying to insert and insert, when I thought the time was right, well not for him, he kept wanting to sink). Ughhhh, very frustrating! pix
  22. Those are cute! But, looks like a chunk of gel wax floating in water... am I wrong? Though on second look, appears to be a no bubble gel with a chunk of gel in it..lol pix
  23. Yeah, Olive prices are way too high at the moment! I replaced all the Olive in my soaps with RBO instead, and am quite pleased with the results. Who knew RBO could make such a silky lather, and why didn't you tell me earlier! pix
