  1. I usually try to pour 8 candles of the same scent with the 8 oz jelly jars. 3 lbs will let me do eight for one scent. I have 5 pour pots, so I can pour quite a few in a few hours. But I don't have a business so I hardly ever pour that amount anymore.
  2. You better stay in touch with us. I have always enjoyed reading all your posts. Please stay on the board with us.
  3. Those colors are Awesome. And you are right. Candle making should be considered a drug.
  4. Donita said to use quality balloons. I tried the ones that were of helium quality. They have done good so far but we will see.
  5. That is gorgeous. You are very talented.
  6. I love it. I love the dreamsicle fragrance too and the popsicle.
  7. she's going to love those especially since they were made from love!!!
  8. I like how the pink color came out. Those are neat!!!
  9. Those sunflowers look so good. Wonderful job.
  10. Here is a pic of the pressed flower orb I did. MAde from a balloon. I still need to do the overdip. Hopefully I won't mess it up. I am proud of it. Thanks Donita for all the help you have given me. You are an inspiration. This is one I actually used the Adhesive to attach the flowers so I will post after I dip it.
  11. I have used: Country Berry Hotcakes (BCN) HI Mulberry (KY) Birds of Paradise (BCS) Leather (Greenleaf) Strawberries & Cream (ICS) Pomegranate (Wicks Wares) Cinnamon Roll (JS) Pillow Talk (sample from King House) Cherry Slush (KY) Caribbean Pear (Twigs & Berries) Honey Gardenia (Snowtop) This one my Mom has had in her car for about two months now and you can still smell it and she has an Expedition. And others can't think of and they have all done well. Some scents last longer than others but overall they at least last about a month which is not bad for something that some people sell for $2.50 and up.
  12. Raspberries & White Roses is STRONG!!!! Smells good. Hey, Hey Cute Cabana Boy smells so good OOB. Her Tres Magnique sp??? is wonderful and strong too. I just bought about 12 of her sniffie samples and they all smell wonderful.
  13. It is the first one on the page, it is called greenleaf 70/30 perfect soy blend.
  14. oh please post when you test burn these and let me know how they did. I almost got samples of those on my last order from Brenda. I will get those next probably.
  15. Jen, if it does not throw well at first let it cure. So far I have had some oils that throw very well even the next day some I have to let cure. I am testing Brenda's oils and other companies. I have only tested a few but man I am so impressed. I have only had one that has not worked and I got fuel smell and it was an orange scent. Other than that all of them so far have had outstanding cold and hot throw.
  16. I would think, especially for the Hyancith that 1.5 oz would be too much. But I haven't used those fragrances. HTH
  17. I just can't get over the ease of this wax and the cold and hot throw I have been getting. I just wanted to let everybody know how excited I am. I have been so frustruated testing waxes and trying to get wicks to burn properly. With this wax I have had an easy time so far on testing wicks and throw. There were a couple of fo's that I was testing in an 8 oz jj and the hot throw was just okay after a couple of days cure time and I was kind of dissappointed but since it has 70% soy I put them away for about 2-1/2 weeks and lit those babies up again and they were AWESOME!!! I will never judge another light scent with just a couple of days cure. I will definitely make sure I put it away and let it cure some more then judge it. I just had to share my excitement. I have been so stressed with working full time, going to night school trying to get into the RN program, husband just started a new job, with have two boys, 9 and 6 at home and then the stress of trying to find the perfect wax after I gave up on J223 (because to me it is just not throwing like it used to). Then Brenda came along. And she is in Texas, big plus for me!!! Anyway, sorry for rambling. I am just so excited. I will stop now. Thanks for listening!!!!
  18. I think anybody can PM as long as you are registered. Just click on the person's name in the post that you want to PM and then click send private message.
  19. Has anybody ever tried spray adhesive on the wax shell to hold the pressed flowers in place and then do the overdip? I was wondering about this. I think I will try it. I can spray the adhesive, place the flowers and use an alcohol swab or swab with adhesive remover to remove the excess around the flowers and then do the overdip. What do you experienced ones think? I will post to let you know how it does when I get some extra time to try it.
  20. If you use wick pins in your votives or pillars do you need to do something to secure the wick in place after you slide it in?
  21. This is what I am testing so far and so far so good!!! Type of Soy or Soy Blend you use? GreenLeaf 70/30 perfectsoy blend Additives if any? None Preferred dyes? Have used both liquid and color block with excellent results Preferred wick (Not sizes)? Eco (tried a few others and like Eco best) Pouring temp you recommend? I have tried from 160-170 with no problems What you do to prevent frosting? None What you do to prevent rough tops? None Do you do anything to prevent wet spots? Room temp to barely warm jars
  22. Do they tend to consume the wax faster. I wicked an 8 oz square mason with an Eco-8 using Greenleaf 70/30 blend and only got about 30 hours of burn time. That seems fast to me. These wicks are new to me. The melt pool was perfect each time I burned the candle about ¼ inch each time, wick trimmed each time. Burned about 4 hours each time candle was burned. Just wondering if maybe the Eco’s just consume wax fast.
