  1. Your did a great job! Love the ribbon with the pumpkin.
  2. Islandgirl..........Oh....so funny! That review has got to be the best ever.
  3. You are very talented and creative. You do wonderful work!
  4. Now......that's some pretty soap.:smiley2:
  5. You did a wonderful job...very creative! Beautiful!!!!!
  6. I am a Limited Liability Corporation? Being a LLC protects your personal assets. Also, I have an Umbrella Policy? I don't do craft shows. However, I asked my husband and he said the organization should have liability insurance. You could ask the person in charge if they have liability insurance for the event. I always have my insurance company send a copy of my policy to wholesale accounts.
  7. I just got Rocky Mountain Memories from AH/RE - It's new this fall. OOB it was very nice. However, I knocked it all over my computer keyboard when I was comparing it to Mistletone Kisses. I was lucky because it went into my keyboard and that saved my table. Maybe someone got a sample and can give a review of it.
  8. Chuck....I am burning Pumpkin Log from Bluegrass Candle Supply. If you have not tried it or this company check them out. In my notes I wrote that it did need a little extra time to cure in soy. I forgot just how good it was! I got an email about the new site launch in a few days. I then pulled out my Pumpkin Log test candle from last Fall. This one has gotten better. Or maybe I had candle noes last Fall. :rolleyes2 It would be good with some coffee added to it.
  9. Just got in AH/RE Lemon Sugar. It's very similar to FOH OOB. I have Just Scent Lemon Sugar. I have not got a chance to use it. However, OOB it's nice but not the same as FOH. As I do a sniff test - FOH has more of a soft lemon and sugar with some type of sweet/sugar clean smell. Just Scent - Stronger lemon with a smell of lemon peel. It does not have the sugar smell OOB. It is much stronger. It's nice but not like FOH. Overall, FOH just has more top middle and bottom fragrance notes to it than Just Scent. AH/RE - You should give it a try.
  10. Just got my sample. In soy....should I wick up for this oil?
  11. I have never seen any fragrance oil duplications for any of the Arbonne scents. I am ISO a limited edition scent - Mandarin Cashmere by Arbonne. It's a very nice mandarin scent with something else in it. I have never had a fragrance sample from any company that smells anything like it. I did find a fragrance very similar at Victoria Secret - Body By Victoria - Confident body Mist. I bought all they had last year when it was being discontinued. So, if you have smelled the Confident products (they were all packaged in a very bright orange color) Mandarin Cashmere is similar. I see several of the products for sale on Ebay. Sellers lists Mandarin Peel Extract, Chamomile Extract, Arnica Extract and Orchid Extract on the products. But, no detailed scent type desctiption. Maybe someone sells or knows someone who has a more detailed scent description for the Arbonne Mandarin Cashmere? Does anyone know of a fragrance company that carries Arbonne duplications? Or, if you have ever smelled of Mandarin Cashmere or VS Confident and have a suggestion of a fragrance oil sample I should order and test that might smell similar? BTW - The product I use is a Body Whip Lotion. The texture is so good.......I really need to find a body whip base and start making lotions for myself.
  12. They look really good. You could scent them with any of the Strawberry fragrance oils. Maybe alot of Strawberry with a bit of Butt Naked fragrance.
  13. Rebeccajo99....Lucky you to be sitting on the beach. Water is so relaxing and time does go by so quick when one is on the beach. I don't have a beach outside but have a beautiful woods. Still not as good as a ocean. But it makes me ! Good thing I don't have the ocean........I would be out all day and never get anything done at home. I have found my test results to be as Stella1952 described for widemouth jars. A few of my heavy fragrance oils I wick up in the taller jars.
  14. Wow......I really like your presentation of the cake soap! It would be wonderful to have for sale by the slice in a store or at a craft show. Your could display the pineapple soap on a cake stand....pre-sliced just as a cake would be. I have seen the cake stands with covers at the restaurant supply stores. Just a thought......use bakery tissue paper to pick it up and put it in a bag that is labeled and ready to go!
  15. Oh.....smells very nice. I never got the sample tested in my wax. I will need to put it in a candle for myself. That way I can have it to compare with others in the future. I do miss her oils. I have a few caramel samples I need to find in my cabinet. I will do a search this weekend. I'll let you know if I find any that smell similar OOB. Not sure if you have the description she had on her site for Caramel Dip. Break out the Granny Smith apples and start dipping!! This scent is dripping with sweet caramel goodness with a hint undertone of granny smith apples.
  16. Candle Science has hunderdweight shipping - 4 cases at a reduced shipping rate.
  17. If you order 4 or more cases at Candle Science you get a break on shipping. It's Hundredweight rates. The price of the soy is more but for me it is a savings of $32.34 on 4 cases with the cheaper shipping rate. If you are planning on ordering 4 cases.....Check them out to see which supplier has the best rates for the soy and shipping.
  18. I only power burn when I am home all day. I light up aroud 7:30 am and burn until around 11:00 pm. I do trim the wicks some. I just can't bring myself to burn my candles non stop. I too have to consider the safety of my children, husband, myself and my home. I know that some consumers do the extreme burning. I do put all the necessary warnings on my jars and have a large insurance policy for my business LLC. I can only put on my jars how to burn the candles properly. I do tell everyone to read the warning label and I have on the back of my business card more detailed burning instructions. How people burn them would probably make me cringe. I would never want someone to burn my candle and loose their home or a life. I do pray that it never happens. However, I could own any type of business and there will always be risk with customers. I guess it's like selling alcohol. If someone purchases alcohol common sense should be used when consuming the product. It's against the law to drink then drive. But like we all know people will do whatever they choose. It's illegal to drink under the age of 21 but people do. I just saw on the news a lady was drunk, on drugs and drove on an interstate in the wrong direction with her children and a relatives children. Killed herself, one of her children, the relatives children. Also, in another vehicle killed a father and son. One of her children is in critical condition. Myself or my husband could never go to bed knowing a candle was burning in our home. However, everyone has an opinion on this. If burning while you are gone or during the night works for you and your family that is a personal choice. *****Have you all been out looking at some candles in the stores that have wicks off center. I assume those are from a factory that might have a special room for testing. The problem is the employees and the inside quality checks failed and the candle shipped. I would never sell a candle with a wick that is too close to one side of a jar.
  19. Stella1952....Thanks for the information. What addatives should I try for the frosting that might help with the expanding soy? Oh, I did have the weird looking "cauliflower" when I used C3. I got the worst looking candle after it was in a candle warmer then cooled off. I changed brands after that. It was several years ago, maybe C3 formula has changed. I did like C3....but have alot of customers who use warmers. I think I might have to go back and do some testing on C3 with an addative. The cold and hot throw was really good. I always enjoy reading your replies.:smiley2: You and many more on this board know so much about candles. I have learned so much from everyone on this board! I am amazed at how much information everone knows and shares. Sure wish I had found CraftServer a long time ago. :yay: EDIT - Stella...I just read your post to someone else on your addatives USA & UV.
  20. Just curious, if anyone has had a fragrance duplicated at a chemical company? If so, which company and what was the minimum amount of pounds to be purchased. A long time ago I called a company and 25 pounds was the minimum. 25 pounds is probably the standard minimum for the work that they have to do to put a scent together. I am sure others require a higher min. purchase. Thanks
  21. Another tip.....you can also use the can opener on any size of coffee cans.
  22. When I first started making soy candles I would cut the wick a little more than 1/4". However, after the candles would set for several months the soy would expand. Ok.....funny way to explanin this maybe:rolleyes2 The wick would get buried by the soy. Now I trim my wicks to 1/2" or so. Does anyone else experience this? Is it just my soy/where I live at or maybe the way I make my candles?
  23. I have Pumpkin Crunch Cake burning right now in soy. I really like it alot for a sweeter type pumpkin. It's not heavy on spice like some pumpkins can be.
