ok so by the recipe i did with 6.5 lye did i use too much?

well i had to make a dec. so i just did it. i will let ya know how it turned out. the recipe was called shannons super lathery soap, i wanted lather, after looking at the oils it pko that produces the lathers. i still dont understand this superfat stuff...

on the lye cal. it calls for 6.37 and the lye i have mixed is 6.5 will this make a big diff. or should i remix lye water ??

heres my recipe 30%palm 5%pko 10% castor 25% olive 5% cocoa butter 15% macad.nut 10% sao I was about to put the lye water in it.... the original with the palm and pko switched around called for 6.56 lye...

i am making cp soap as i type... my first big batch and i think i messed up it called for 14.4 oz palm kernal and 2.4 palm i did the opposite will it matter??

I just got some in today... It is soo thick. for those who use it just how do you mix the fo with it. do you just put it all in jar and shake(which dosent seem like that would work) or do you mix in bowl and stir then add to jars? tia

bella soy i totally understand, I wish people would think before they type!! I use htp and been using it for 4 years now, when i started, to save money i asked the same questions, and there were very helpful non judgemental people who helped me and it did save me a little, although i did spend a couple thousand before i perfected it. first off what wax are you using? -
will it get harder, its like fudge right now. how long does it take to get harder.

go thru the gel phase?? I poured a batch about 5 hours ago and it doesnt look like it is geling. it was a shea mango and coconut and olive oil.

no neither, i plugged in the numbers and it didnt change the numbers much.. i ordered some palm,. may have to wait till it comes in to try this one.

sorry guys heres the oils olive oil 30% palm kernal 30% grapeseed 20% and flaxseed 10% the recipe called for rice bran but i dont have it, just wondering if i could use flaxseed instead

i am trying to substitute one oil for another because it is all i hve here are the numbers hardness 33 cleansing 21 condition 62 bubbly lather 21 creamy lather 12 iodine 80 new to this and these numbers are driving me crazy btw this is a soap for teen skin

Awhile back i printed a recipe for acne problem skin and an ingredient was calendula flowers, it took me a month to finally get some calendula and now i cannot find the recipe and i searched.. tia

i use 4794 and use 4 diff wick sizes. its just a matter of testing. i use htp wicks and buttercream crunch i use a 73 and in clean cotton 41 and red hot cinn a 62 its a matter of testing. a small flame height you will not get a good enough scent throw.

i have been using j233 for 3 years, it seems just in the past 6 months the texture has changed, i even had to wick up on some scents. you may want to randomly test some to check , i hate the dimple around the nipples!! i have to take the heat gun to them. one thing i found worked for me is to put the lid on them while still warn and they seem to not dimple as much some i dont even have to heat gun.. i am praying i dont have to test all over again. i hve been asking some of my regular customers if they have noticed a difference. hth
