I got a shower gel base from essentials by catilina... Just how do you mix the fo in these bases. i mixed fo in it and it just foamed up. and it didnt seem like it mixed real well the way i mixed it. i just mixed it right in its 4oz jar and used a skewer to stir.. is there a better way to do this. tia

i read that someone put mango butter in their bombs, i think it was meredith.. the recipe i have calls for SA oil do i sub that with mango?? And do i melt the mango down to liquid?? tia

I am now moving on to making more than one batch of cp at a time. I have a question... they are 2 diff batches they call for 2 diff amounts of water and 2 diff amounts of lye. the totals are 19 oz water and 12.3 oz of lye . could i mix this together, and in the batch that calls for 14 oz of water just use it and the batch that calls for 15 oz use the rest... if that makes sense. sounds dumb i know but i still dont get the chemistry thing yet. tia

i am about to pour cp soap , 40 oz oils and calls for 2 oz eo, does that sound right?

How do you handle 2 bus names i started candles have a name for that, then branched off to bb and have a name for that, if i ever open a storefront how do i encorporate the two.. my thoughts are i would wanst both to be advertised(sign) because i dont want customers to think its just candles but bb too. has anyone ever run into this... tia

has any one ever heard or thought of this... where (if you have a store front) you make pouring open for public to see? (possibly hidden behind glass, keeping it safe from children) it seems i heard of some well known company doing this?? what are your thoughts on this.

test?? i dont know whats the deal but in one week i went to two places, one was burning a root candle and the flame height was about 1/4 inch and no scent throw at all..do people even realize?? the lady defended it by saying oh people pick it up and sniff it all day thats why its burning like that? I will be bringing her one of mine.. then i went to a friends house 2 days in a row, she was burning a tyler candle the first day one wick was out and the 2 that were burning FH was about 1/4 inch , barely hanging on. the next day same thing?? do you think they test?? i know with jars ive tested and were very confident i have had a friend say the wicks were drowning.. maybe thats the case sometimes, finicky wicks and wax, mythinking is the wicks sometimes. i dont know. they must test... i suppose to be successful. makes me feel better though that even the big timers have a dud once in a while.. i still feel like i need to call everyone i sold to and see if they were satisfied, if it burned ok ect... i am small so i can do that with some of my customers...

i did find a change in j233 recently, for one it dimples at the wicks, and i did have to wick up one some of my scents. i am actually randomly test burning right now, i may have to retest all my scents, i am pretty bummed out about it.

my pink sugar oil did the exact same thing, i think its the oil too.. i read somewhere pink sugar is bad for discoloring.

in soap as it cures.. i poured some this morning just cut it while still warm, i used coconut bay type it doesnt smell anything like it , kinda chemically.. does the scent change during curing?

do most of you have a main cp soap recipe that you make mostly and just scent differently.. i have been trying diff. recipes and getting diff feedback a couple of my testers some not good and some working well.. the ones doing well i will work from those and scent diff. is this what most of you do?

for facial soap to have a low INS score.. i got a recipe for acne for cp soap and plugged it int the cal and the INS is 89. they say acceptalbe is 145 is this still ok?

to swirl in log molds, or not really? I have been trying and all i get is a pitiful blob of color rt on top? if so how in the world do ya do it. ( i will post a pic in gallery of my pitiful attempt.)
