  1. I can't figure out adobe for the life of me. I'm not very computer efficient to begin with, and trying to figure out how to make a template in adobe makes me insane. Lightning labels has adobe as one of their required formats, and I love lightning labels, but can't figure adobe, so I can scan my graphics in and make a darn label. I'll watch this thread, and see of anyone jumps in with some adobe for idiots.
  2. No, I would not have exchanged it. Did she have her receipt?
  3. Those tins from papermart are beautiful, but they don't look seamless, and I'm wondering if they will leak. If not, I love that gloss look. Very sophisticated.
  4. I'm sorry you are having to do this. I almost closed mine, because of the merchant account fees, but my website designer switched my shopping cart over to paypal. I still don't get any traffic these days though. Fortunately, it's not a situation for me, where it's my only source of income. I sure hope it picks back up for you soon.
  5. Limiting to one word is hard, and the only thing I can think of is "scented". Sorry, I'm not much help.
  6. I add hot lye mixture to oils. My hard and soft oils are in one pot, and I just pour in the hot lye mixture. I then stir until all hard oils are melted, then hit it with the stick blender. This makes for faster soap making. You don't use any energy to melt your oils. This is just me, but it doesn't make a difference if it is winter or summer, as my oils aren't frozen or anything. But for production purposes, this is a real time saver. No melting, no waiting for temps to come together. It's easier to me.
  7. I'm thinking that when I do fundraisers, or home shows etc., I still have to carry boxes, and move them around the shop. Especially fundraisers; I fill the orders, pack up the boxes, and move them, and deliver them. Do you have someone there to do all of this for you? I usually send out a packet of info to schools in August for fundraisers, if this helps. You can target teams, and choirs, churches etc.. I really don't do shows these days, because in my area they don't produce much in sales.
  8. Silvermoon did make good on an order that I placed in January last year. They just sent them about a month ago. I haven't heard of anyone ordering from them recently. I want to order a couple more custom molds from them, but was waiting to see if anyone had placed a recent, successful order. I'm still not real trusting of them, since it took almost a year to get my order.
  9. Did you try Nashville wraps? They do custom labels with silver print from your design.
  10. I think candles and supplies carries them too.
  11. I'm with the rest of them. I used joy when it first came out and loved it. I did, however find it too soft for tarts. But, after a couple of years they did something to the formula, although they claimed that nothing changed. But, it was too inconsistent, and I need my formula to work the same way every time. So, I had to go with something else. It's a shame, because I really liked the original product.
  12. Did you try Nashville Wraps? They have a pretty good selection of grosgrain ribbons.
  13. I like Tradewind's Christmas tree.
  14. Well, I started the other thread on this, and I was using authorize.net. They didn't even give us a question form to flll out. They just decided to charge us 129.00 a year for compliance. So, I fired them. I am not taking credit cards anymore. I was saying in the other thread that I think people are getting fed up with the entire credit card industry, and aren't using credit cards like they used to, and someone mentioned that they still might use check cards. Well then they can write me a check. It may lose me a few sales, but it's not worth all the fees, and these merchant companies jerking us around.
  15. The PCI is protection for the customer, so that their information can't be hacked into. Authorize.net says it is federally mandated. That we all must be in compliance. They also told me that if I tried to go to other companies, that they would charge for this too. I may just decide to quit taking credit cards. I know this will probably reduce my sales, but I also know a lot of people are tired of the credit card industry as a whole, and are shying away from using them. I'm going to have to think on this.
  16. Wildcrafter, do you have this connected to your website as well?
  17. I am looking for a new merchant account. I was with authorize.net, but they have just been adding more charges all the time. I pay a statement fee of 35.00 a month. American express is 5.95. And the authorize monthly fee is 19.95. They also have a yearly fee of another 50.00. Now they charge 129.00 a year for privacy compliance. This company is all I have ever used, as they were suggested by my website designer and host, Fallenmuse, so I don't know if I'm being unreasonable in complaining, but it just seems too expensive to me.
  18. I just add my lye immediately into my unmelted oils. I don't wait for cooling. It just takes too long, and I'm too impatient.
  19. I believe the tearless kinds have a numbing agent in them. In other words they still burn, you just don't feel it.
  20. The only metal loaf mold I would use would be stainless steel or enamel, as the other metals would cause a reaction to the lye.
  21. Thanks for the info about paypal. I'll try them right now.
  22. I have uplands, and don't like them. The cut lines aren't even. I like a slab mold. Upland doesn't carry one in the size that I need. They take a long time as well. I really liked the quality of Silvermoon, but I guess they have some sort of issue going on. I may just have to go to paypal to get a refund. I'd rather just have my molds.
  23. Anyone know what's going on with them? I ordered some molds from her on January 1st. She emailed me that they were ready on January 18th, and that she would let me know when they shipped. I haven't heard from her since. I have emailed her several times, and the phone number on her site is no longer a valid number. Does anyone have a phone number for her? I don't get any response to my emails. I heard that they were moving, and weren't shipping anything until after the move, but I would think they would answer their emails.
  24. You could try silk amino acid. It gives a nice silky glide. I use it in lotion.
