  6. Another thing....if you have a good digital scale...weigh out what's on the list and then just get the 1/2 or 1/4 of the weight.....unless of course it's a tsp! then you'll take 5 ml (1 tsp) and use 2.5 ml for half! 1 tbsp. = 15 ml or 1/2 oz. Hope that helps!

  9. Hi, I'm new to pillars and normally make soy containers..I've read alot about the 4625 and really want to try a pillar. I got a 3x6 mold and was wondering what would a starting point be for a wick? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!
  10. realmarsha, You mentioned the fil-tec's for soy, please keep us posted! I went down a size to the pref. 80's and in 3 hrs. still shy of reaching the sides of the canning jar. With the 85 in 3 hours I had around a 1/2" deep pool. Thanks!
  11. I use ecosoya 135 and have used many wicks in these canning jars....the jars just get really hot which makes me nervous. I'm not worried about the jars because I know they can be boiled for long periods of time while canning...but more worried someone will burn a hand trying to pick one up. I'm using preforma 85's now....great clean burn,...but too hot. I have used papercore and they aren't as hot...but leave a ton of white smoke when you blow them out and actually look like still light for about a minute... Anyone else using 135 want to share their wicking? Thanks!
  12. I think they look nice and creamy! Perfect color for a peach or cantalope! How do they burn? Can you hug them?
  13. Does anyone use the hamilton beach roasters for melting wax? I have one and was wondering if you put water in the bottom for a double boiler type of system? Thanks!
  14. Would an oatmeal soap be best for dry itchy skin? I'm already thinking about the winter...lol
  15. If I were you, I'd get as much physical proof as possible...anything she has given in writting from your customers. Keep everything as it will help you in the end. I know a rep. from that company that swore they were "all natural soy" candles, and I kept correcting her...I actually told her that they were going to change the label even before she knew (thanks to this board!!). Their company is from my area...actually their factory is extremely close to me. I only make candles as a hobby but they have really misinformed their rep.'s or possibly just didn't inform them correctly (IN MY OPINION), since the one I know said that other candle makers use lead wicks and we all know that's not the case in the U.S. It's sad what people will do. Good luck to you.
  16. Candlesandsupplies in PA for plastic ones, they have a large selection!
  17. I would start with a preforma 85 in that jar...the reg. masons take an 85-95 and work fine for me!
  18. Does it look like white beeswax to anyone else on the videoclip??
