  1. this happened to me once..It looked worst then that..I think I had the wrong ratio of lye(to little lye two much oil)..Now,think I'll go have coffee an some cherry pie..Take care...Please,post pictures....of rebatch..Linda
  2. It is best to get your (free) book from FDA..The laws are always changing..I did lotions years ago..But, stopped dew to the fact..If you read the guidelines I did not have a factory type place with correct floor drains etc..They required a bit more laws(such as correct labeling etc.etc.(maybe talking about consumer affairs)I'll recheck and give you the toll free number if you need it.. Anyways...they require a certain amount of perservative to protect the consumer from bacteria...My advice is to check into places that can do private label for you....Or buy a base that you can just pour into a clean container.. One that has the correct amount required by law..Kind regards, linda
  3. I am with you..when I sell oils I always send the M.S.D.S. sheets when they request them..It is your right as a buyer and its the law..This breaks down all the hazards/toxie level etc..of the scent..the FDA has standards to keep people safe.,..If you have ever read them..You would understand why you don't want candle scent only in your BB products..Have a great day!!You guys are just to funnyyyyyyyyyyyy!Linda
  4. You can use sweet almond oil as a bath oil bath(straight) ..However,in doing labels you may wish to add(tub may become slippery)something to that effect.Try Grapeseed oil as a massage oil base/Monoi(probably spelled wronge(the oil imported from Ta-hee-te(They infuse(oil) of a flower that looks like a gardenia flower into a coconut base..This stuff heats up with fiction(rub between your hands)..Ja-ho-ba oil(its really considered a wax..but is nice... has a good long shelf life and makes a good massage oil for the finger tips. I mix my massage oil With a few drops of orange E.O. But I am sure to tell them not to use it as a suntaning lotion because of the citrus content..If you are doing small batches any health food store will carry these...They will also have apricot/coco butter/shea butter/mango butter etc..These can be made into lotion bars for massages also,,Have a great day...Linda
  5. Where's my inhaler..???? Wow!!!Do you think sometimes two much is two much(chemical wise)????Kind regards, linda
  6. Isn't citric acid also In the family of Alpha Hydroxy Acids????? along with Lactic Acid, Glycolic and Malic Acid,Ammonium Glycolate,Alpha-Hydroxycaprylic Acid, mixed fruit acid,etc.etc. I don't encourage people with sensitive skin to use these as I'm not so sure that these may cause UV Exposure .Which in time may damage the skin???Anyone on anti-depressants, or with skin disorders such as ro-sa-sha..Should stay clear of these and other citrus oils in products.Just my opinion....I have witnessed first hand what photo sensititive drugs can do.Skin cancer is not pretty.....Find out all you can about items before you place them in your products.Kind regards, linda
  7. sometimes..when you overcook the MP this will happen.I only use clear FO....If they are clear they seem to stay nice and clear and don't dis-color.Take Care, linda
  8. You know the dry spa-get-tie shaker's at walmart's?You could take some gel (the kind you use for gel candles)(95% Mineral oil5%)now you melt and add the scent.I do not color mine...I want as little trouble as possible..When using linen sprays make sure the linen base won't stain or rest on anything he will handle.Remember if you make your own using Volka...I would check with the FDA about using raw alcohol...Maybe illegal if you are selling it..?? At Lowes in the (garden center)there are some crystals it was created to retain soil mositure)People now use it in head/neck wraps.. I forget whats it called(it swells twenty times its size)May work..A little of this goes a long way...Kind regards, linda
  9. Use clear...get you a spray bottle of alcohol...You can use a loaf mold that is round at the bottom...Make a layer of green first...This will be the rind(??)not sure if that's how its spelled..Now,pour the red in...Use a clear base all the way though...Kind regards, the soap lady of longview, linda rule of thumb..Clear MP = true shades White MP=pastel or cream Colorants for MP sould always be FDA approved and are suppost to be now staining...
  10. Good-day!There is always a way to do what needs to be done..I have tryed many..Garage sales, even sold plasma...you can do scrapbooking for friends...cover cost of product plus,,,profit per page...Yes,per page not book...Hope this helps...Babysitting..Do you have any clothes/purses/shoes you can take to some local consignment shops? Get ahold of some local clubs such as Red Hat Society/hobby stores/You can charge per person plus they pay so much to cover the cost of the product they are making..Clubs enjoy this kind of thing..You can do a scrapbooking workshop......The Lufkin conference has been put on hold until further notice..So this will give you time....Kind regards,Linda
  11.
