Our candle line....
shantillescandlecreation replied to shantillescandlecreation's topic in Old Style Candle Gallery
Meridith, Thank you for your input. We will take your advice and not put the soy candles out, as they are the candles we are really new at. We will do alot more testing with it. And as just a small note, the party that my wife is having is just family and some co-workers. We arent trying to become the next Yankee candle. Thanks again for your input -
Our candle line....

No ok let me clarify some things here. One my wife has been making candles for 2 years for herself and family. We are new to candle making on a larger scale and at using different waxes. That is why I am asking questions here on this forum, so we can learn from people like yourselves that have done this for much longer. And Carrie We are NOT doing this as a get rich quick thing. We do take this seriously. I admit we have not done test burns on EVERY combination, but we've burned more than one candle in each jar, and pillar. I guess I'm at fault for not clarifying more about how long she's been at this, We are new to this compared to alot of you here. -

carrie, We've done some test burns and been very happy with the results. Also people that have bought candles have loved them. They've all said they are better than anything you could buy in a store. So it's a work in progress still. -

I'd like to post some pics of our candle line. When I do it says the pic exceeds the size limit. How do I change the size so I can post pics?

I know 'yall love us newbies asking questions out the waazoo, So I wont dispoint with mine. HI everyone! Have a wax question. My wife and I are looking to get some Pillar wax:whoohoo: . The place has 3 different waxes they say is for Votives, Pillars, and Small Containers. they have different melt points there's 125 melt point, 130 melt point, and 140 melt point. My question.....(wait for it..........) which one would be the best for Pillar molds. This is the only info I have on the wax, the website doesnt have manufacturer, the MSDS sheet that goes along with each (which is the same sheet) says nothing about pillars just containers and Mottling. Does the melt point have to do with the amount of shrinkage in the wax? dont want the candle getting stuck in the mold because it wont shrink away from the sides. Any help will be really appreciated. Shane

Suprisingly, yes the pic that I Posted with this thread is the pic off of ebay, Yes the one they used to sell these molds. I clean the molds as soon as I get them. And I agree The molds pictured I picked up all of them for $30.00 including shiping. so far all the molds we've bought have been in really good shape, not dents, dings, or rust. I've attached pics of 2 ebay auctions that we bought. again these are the pics from the ebay ad. Thanks for the input Stella shane

I'm Not Seeing Any Pics On Any Posts Of Candles Made. Reasons Why? -
Hello everyone. I've just been sitting in the shadows reading away, but I've come up with a question that hopfully someone can answer. My wife and I have purchaced about 15-18 molds now on ebay. We have gotten them from various people, but one thing is common with all the molds. While the mold itself is in good shape the outsides of the molds are caked, or plastered with wax build up. We havent had this with our molds. the stay fairly clean on the outside. We also wonder why people dont clean the molds up when they sell them or before shipping them. I'm attaching a pic of some molds we recently bought. notice the star molds especially. and the octogon mold has it all over the sides. Any info will be appriciated thanks
