We had a lot of left over wax from other candles, so I decided to mix and match, and play a bit. Tried some new things. Oh yeah, had a little fun doing it too. Best of all I got to use POWER TOOLS on one candle. The first two pics are of an experiment. I made a "shell" of Blueberry cobbler, and then drilled holes in it with multiple size drills, Then I poured Cinnamon on the inside. I thought it came out pretty good, for a first time. The second two pics are of all the candles I made, "Just havin fun" and using up excess wax. From left they are: Apple Blossom~cherry mix // Blueberry Cobbler~Cinnamon Holes // Cinnamon~Vanilla~Lavender Poured at different angles // Ocean mist~Green apple mix // and finally Blueberry cobbler~ocean mist mix. We've just got the basics on ours. As I've been told over and over and over and ... well you get the idea, dont make the tag look to busy, let your candle sell

Our scents are from Lonestar candle supply and Bittercreek. I think the Pumkin and Lavender are both Lonestar.

We have used that combination for a customer. dont use a real strong pumpkin though. That smells terrible. A light Pumpkin pie scent is better when mixing the two.

I've wondered just that if we couldnt just write the weight on the warning lable, or if it has to be visible from the side. I never thought about a custome warning lable with the sizes printed on them.

Yes this is what we do. I've never taken for granted that a 10 oz Vicorian jar would hold 10ozs. I like to know the exact amount that we are putting into each jar. And all of our candles do have the weight on them, even the pillars. Only votives dont. I was just wondering if anyone DIDNT put weights on theirs. But from what I read, Weights HAVE to be on them, and this is good to know. In all my reserch and reading, I cant remember reading anywhere that the weight had to be on it. But I'm sure there is alot I've missed. Thank you for your input.

I've got a question, I'm sure this goes both ways and am just trying to get a feel for how others feel. When making your candle tags and lables do you always put the candle size (8oz Mason etc) on every candle? The reason I'm asking is We have many different styles of container and pillar we offer. One of our very good customers has brought up why not save some money and instead of printing up labels and tags for every Size just print up one without the size, just change the scents, (ex. her fav. is Raspberry Vanilla and she just bought a 6oz Frosted, 6oz Victorian, 8oz Bale wire jar, and 3 12oz Apothecary jars, plus 2 Round pillars and 2 Octagon Twist pillars). I have printed up seperate lables for each size container, (4oz, 6oz, 7.5oz, 8oz, 10oz, 12oz, 22oz, plus all our pillars) in the past. I have to admit, it sounds tempting. It would be nice to save on all the printing costs. My wife puts a Hand made lable on the bottom with the scent, wax type, and she can also put the size. This Lable is mainly for our own reference and is beside the warning lable. Any thoughts? Is there anyone out there who doesnt put weight on their lables or tags? Thanks shane

Well for the Outrageous price of....$1.00... we got them at The Dollar Tree. Started a test burn at 6a.m. and these things are great. We did 2 candles one with CBL-130 wax and one with CBL-125 with 50% soy wax. FO's of Black Raspberry Vanilla and Blueberry Cobbler. They smell just as strong as when they were made. Nailed this one the first time!

Hey, Just thought I'd pop some pics here of some Cute containers we found while out and about:whoohoo: . We poured a couple and will do a test burn tomorrow. I really like the Cameo ones, the remind me of some of the jewlry my grandma used to wear before she passed away:cry2: .

You can always tip the mold a bit to direct the wax, or use a toothpick to help guide the wax. If you drag some of the wax with the toothpick, it should follow.

Ok I'll give this one a shot. I would do one of two things here, and both were mentioned before. First one would be to Pour your second layer, second pour right up to the edge. This will take some pratice and a steady hand, but the wax it thick enough that it should hold, but if you are pouring to the very top of the mold, which it looks like you are, if it does overflow a bit, after it cools you can trim it with a sharp knife. Just have your mold on something that can catch the overflow wax. The second is to not pour so high in the mold, when you are ready for your "final" pour, heat the wax up with a heat gun, or a hair dryer works too. this will soften the wax on the top and it will mix better with what you are pouring. Hope this helps

We've had the same thing happen. We ordered 8 scents, 4 cases of Victorian Jars, and some odds and ends from our main supplier. The total for what we bought was around $70.00. The shipping "calculator" put shipping at $63.00 +. I called my supplier, and they had the same problem, a bug in the system. I just wonder how many people pay these outragous costs and dont say a word. I know I question anything that doesnt seem right. And am not afraid to call somebody on their mistakes.

Yes they are Red and black. Unfortunately, it smells Like chocolate:angry2: (it is supposed to, I just dont like chocolate)

When we use snowflake oil, it tends to congragate at one end or the other of the candle. dont ask me why:tiptoe: . glad yours looks even from top to bottom.

Willow, willow, willow, OH MY, Oh MY, OH my. No correction from here. that's pretty much the way we do it here. So at least you're not the only one.. But I'm sure someone will tell us we are doing it wrong. I'm sure there is other ways, and some better than others, but I say if it works for you, use it

Yes and we got 5 custom orders also. One I'm not to sure about, The Lady wants a Floresent/Hot Pink colored Nam Champa Scented Candle. So we have to order both scent and color. I just wish I would have remembered to get some pictures after we were all set up.

Do not apply the heat to the weld. just to the pin. you should then be able to bend it back into the right possition without stressing the metal or the weld.

I'm assuming that they are just bent, not that they are placed off center? if they are bent, You should be able to bend them slightly without hurting the weld. If they are bent alot heating will help, but I'm not sure a heat gun will provide enough heat. If I could see a picture of one of your bent ones I could tell you alot more about how to fix them. Tornado touched down 1 hr south of us. Dont know of any damage reports. For only 6 sales out of 7 guests and one Son who had to bring a mom her purse. $250.00 in sales. Havent had a chance to figure out the profit on it yet. But we had a good time. In the last picture where there is all the guests we were doing a "Chinese Auction" We asked 20 questions, 10 about the hostess, and general things, and 10 Candle Trivia. Each right answer gets a ticket. We place out 6 to 12 Candles of different types with cups beside them and the guest can put thier names on the tickets and drop them in the cups. We choose, they win:yay:

Has anyone done any of the Pillars where you put Ice chips in the mold? What is the secret behind these. My nephew wants to make some, but he's not sure of how to make them, and he wants to know what is done about any water trapped in the candle once cool. We've never made any of these, so we are no help to him.
