  1. Wow Vicky thanks! That's really helpful info. I was looking only at electric warmers so that's good to know... now I would have to make sure to pass that on to any clients. So, I know you said that it will leach the fo from the gel candles, could I scent the sand like I do aroma beads then?
  2. I actually have these in my to test eventually list, I got my info here... http://soap-queen.blogspot.com/2008/01/massage-candles-intro-day-one.html
  3. Well, I'm still waiting to hear if it is sand or not (I'd wonder about that too Vera.. if it's not sand it's false advertising) but I'm also going ahead with a little test of some of the salt I have here at home (about 2T worth). I'll let you know how it goes if anyone wants a follow up.
  4. Hmmm... now salt isn't something I would have thought about but it makes sense. If I was testing something like that would dendritic salt be ok or should I use some other type?
  5. Cool! Thanks, I appreciate any feedback you have.

    Sandle?

I just got some info from the candle warmer company and apparently their new candle isn't a candle at all but scented sand to be used with a warmer. Any thoughts? I've never even heard of scented sand and wondered if we could make it at home.
  7. Weird mind here.. what about Whole Hog? Also like Scented's Hog wild
  8. Okay, now I know I will be going back to one of the other suppliers as I'm still waiting for them to finish taking all the oil and I didn't use a different amount than I usually do and I've already added more beads. And I'm not talking about oh a few beads are sticking to the walls of the jar, I mean I still have a layer of oil on the bottom of the jar when I pick it up to shake it! I'll pay the extra for a product that's faster. Keep in mind it may be my oils and my batch of beads, but I wanted to let y'all know what's going on here.
  9. Just wondering if anyone has used Cherry Garcia from Southern Soapers. I'm looking for a great cherry for aroma beads that is body safe and phthalate free as I may develop other lines later. Thanks in advance!
  10. Packaging is organza bags inside a polypro bag from uline.com
  11. No advice on types of color to use, but wondering if anyone else has problems with the color bleeding back out of the beads when they encounter high temps? I sent some to my hubby and he said that the dye came off a little bit on the plastic bag. I know I didn't use too much and just wondered if it had something to do with the heat.....
  12. Still waiting on some of my other scents to cure, but holy cow they suck up the mulberry from CS!
  13. I'm not sure about how well they hold scent as they haven't been done that long... I'll keep you up to date.
  14. Ok, I've been waiting to post again until I saw how these did. These seem to be on par with the ones I got from BCN and Peak, although I have noticed I tend to add about a tablespoon more of beads to my normal ratio (1/2 oz to 4 T of beads is normal for me) My other comment was that once the order was placed and I received my receipt there was no further communication about shipping. I know I'm horrible, but I love to be able to track when I'm getting my shipments. So there you are.. my 2 cents.
  15. Vicky's struck a note with me but reminded me of soda so maybe instead... Mountain Sprite Creations or Spritely Mountain Creations
  16. I've only ordered beads twice as I'm just getting going but they were from Peak and BCN. I'm working on the BCN beads now and finding that my vanilla based scents take a little longer to absorb in them than the Peak. I'll be moving out west again soon so maybe I should go back to Peak but I want to give these other ones a try too. Kate
  17. I have ordered some from aromabeadsonline and will let you all know how they do for me. :smiley2:
  18. I know this is an older post but I found it while searching because I want to only work with phthalate free and I wanted to add that some of the CS are (use their search and type in phthalate free) also I just emailed Peak and they sent me a list of all the scents with notation as to whether they are or not. If you are interested in the list you can email them and ask or message me and I'll send it to you.
  19. I just had to pop back in here and say I picked up my order today and met Kelly. She's a really great person and so helpful! I love the two I got (lime sugar and chai tea) so will probably be back to order more. Man shipping is gonna kill when I move! :tiptoe:
  20. I just had my first order with them as I'm just starting to play with lip balm/scrub. The product was great and pricing was fine but honestly it took a little longer than I expected. But I am more than half the country away! It should be much better after I move at the end of this year.
  21. Also in case of headache.. lavender and peppermint. Actually that's the only way I can tolerate lavender!
  22. Never had to hire anyone, but what about checking with the business dept of the local college?
  23. I don't know why the coupon isn't working but I do know they are hauling butt over there. I placed an order this last week for pickup (God help me I live 4 minutes from them!) and finally got an email about when to pick up. The whole warehouse was off last week for their "summer break" while the owner was at Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild convention.
  24. Thanks Tabitha! My tag is about to change just a little since my logo is being re-done, but I'll post that as soon as I get it done.
  25. just wondering if anyone had bought aroma beads from http://www.aromabeadsonline.net They seem cheaper than most other places but I want to make sure they're as good as the ones I have from peak. otherwise no deal! Thanks!
