  1. I know this is an old thread, but did you ever get this jar wicked firefly? I would love to hear results if so! I really love that jar, again haha.
  2. I've used www.mountainroseherbs.com although, after looking, they are currently out of stock of rosehips. They have alot of stuff though HTH!
  3. I started using some wick stick ums that I didn't like for wicking on my molds. If I use a wick pin...I slide the wick stick um over the pin...all the way down to the base then press really hard. Then I use the metal tape to get a good seal around the pin. I use my pin on the outside of the mold btw. If I'm wicking the mold...I pull the wick out of the hole about an inch or so...place the stick um on top of the hole/wick..then cover with metal tape. It would be better to have a visual of this. I'll try to get a pic and post them later. I don't really get leaks now this way. I hate using the screws. Pain in the butt lol.
  4. I had bought 2 of the bevelers from For Crafts Sake. Good reasonable price and they work and are small enough to fit in your hand. Makes beveling easy. The only issue I seem to have is that it kinda scratches up the bars a bit. I don't always bevel my bars, but when I do I wait until they are fully cured to cut down on the scratches the beveler makes. The material it's made of is a bit rough on the beveler. But otherwise...it's a great price.
  5. I love ordering from Elements. Such great shipping times too! I really love the oils from FOH and Flickers. A few of my favorites would be Balsam & Citrus Kai Olive Blossom Strawberry Rhubarb Madagascar Vanilla Orchid And Honey L'Occitine...haven't put it in anything yet...but it's devine OOB
  6. Those jars are sharp looking. Would love those in black lol. Wow on that warning. I have never ever seen a warning like that on any candle. Has anyone else? Makes you wonder why it's on there.
  7. No fighting here LOL. Just am confused on what you were talking about as being off center. You said your sister noticed it was off center after you lit it. So that's why I asked if you used a wick pin in the mold...or did you wick the mold yourself before pouring. Sometime wick pins can be bent off center....and sometimes when you wick your mold you don't have the wick centered on the "bottom".
  8. What do you mean by off center? Are you using a wick pin? What is off center...the hole in the top of the mold? Sorry for all the questions...just trying to figure out what is off center.
  9. Meridith..that is one long burning candle....334 1/2 hours? LOL The candle looks great. I am going to try that Red Sedona tonight. I love that scent.
  10. that is great news meridith! i hadn't gotten a chance to make anything with it since i posted. glad to hear it's working in glass glow. i'll try the liquid dye too, or maybe even no dye to leave it white like birch. thanks for updating
  11. i have no idea what that is. where did you get it from or where was it recommended to be used?
  12. I had not heard of these until seeing this so I of course had to look them up. They are cool looking I kinda like that gothic look. I have no idea how to go about making one but would be curious if anyone else has tried them. I'm lost as to how you would wick it to get it close to the edge of the candle.
  13. how often are you trimming your wick? i agree with the others...it's way way way too long. it should never curl over like a curly que like that. i would remelt, repour and keep that wick trimmed to 1/4 of an inch. i bet that will make a huge difference in your burn. hth
  14. BB had a scent called soapy clean at one time. It was actually the very first fo I used to make my very first batch of soap. It smelled very soapy clean lol. They may still have it...but it's been 2 years. It just smells....clean.
  15. Hey Noodle...was that sample summer orange flower? I LOVE that one! I need to order a lb of that on my next order. I love peaks. I mainly get my wax from CS, but peaks has a better selection of wicking and their oils are great. Glad you enjoyed what you got
  16. I get excellent throw with 4627 wicked with htp's. I believe htp wicks are recommended as best for this wax per the manufacturer...don't quote me on that, but I read it somewhere. Perhaps Peaks? Yep...here it is on there site Different wicks may be needed depending on dye/fragrance combination. HTP wicks are suggested. This wax generally does better with wick sizes larger than would normally be used with plain paraffin (Wick-up) I don't use the 10% fo load though...I typically will do 8% with it.
  17. I just started test burning 3 different csn wicks with my cracklin birch fo. Like Candybee said...I'm going to need to wick down from the CS wick guide. Holy flamethrower!!! I took a pic of my HUGE flame, but my desktop computer doesn't seem to want to turn on today so I'm on the laptop. I'd certainly wick down too!
  18. I'm not creative either...but after looking at your name....how about Palm Beach Scent Shots Posh Wax Chunks I know..I suck fricken yankme...bunch of tarts! I've not a clue.
  19. Meridith...it's a bugger!!! I love it though. I can't get it to do anything in this comfort blend. I'm going to pour glass glow tonight I hope. I'll let you know how it works out too.
  20. I posted this in the fragrance section, should have probably posted it here instead. I just love this fo...but I can't wick this for nothing in the jar I'm using. I'm trying to wick it in an 8oz sq mason. I'm using 4627 wax. 6% fo and 1 dye chip PP. I've tried CD's...CDN's...HTP's I try to stick with the HTP's since this wick is recommended for this wax. I've gone up to a 126 and it still tunnels. I hate to give up on this fo...I love it that much. Guess I may have to though...darn it. I'm going to try it in Glass Glow tonight for the first time. Might make up a batch of soap tomorrow with it. Obviously I'm desperate to get it in something LOL. Has anyone had any luck with this fo? TIA...did I mention how much I want to have a candle in this fo?
  21. Thanks Karen. Yeah...I was unsure where to post it since it's more a problem with just this FO. I'll post it there instead.

  23. I have some carpal tunnel...however I had surgery on my right wrist to repair a torn TFCC ligament that I tore while working. I also have ulnar neuropathy in my left elbow. I'm sure you've had the EMG's to diagnose your carpel tunnel...I've had several of those and the left elbow keeps getting worse. I've opted not to do surgery at this time. The only thing I can recommend is to do some nerve glides for your hands. My Orthopedic Surgeon has written 2 books on Carpal Tunnel and if you'd like them...I'd be more than happy to send you my two copies. There are exercises in there that you can do to ease your pain. They are yours for free if you'd like them. PM me if you're interested. The nerve glides have helped me avoid surgery on my left arm...and they really do help to ease the pain in your hands. I also bought a home paraffin unit from Bed Bath & Beyond. It helps ease the pain as well.
  24. How's the burns coming along RedLady? They look good in this first set and I'd love to see more Welcome btw
