  1. Actually I was thinking of doing something similar- I was going to try not coloring my soy candles and adding small bits of herbs or dried flower petals- I thought if it was coated with the wax it would not burn- was I wrong?
  2. Wookie- where are you at in Iowa? I am in Illinois- if it is close enough I could drieve to pick it up. Thanks
  3. Test burned the Orange Chiffon Cake made with GW444 after 19 hours cure time - Scent throw was good and had 1/4 in. melt pool after 2hrs. I like this wax but checked Millcreek's site and it is much more expensive than the 415 plain soy. I am happy with 415 so don't see enough difference to change.
  4. Yesterday I poured GW444 used 16oz wax using 1oz Orange Chiffon Cake F/O form Snowtop with 5 drops yellow and 2 drops red liquid clolor using a 60c wick. I heated to 180- added F/O at 175 then added color. Poured in jras at 125-(two 8 oz jelly jars) got smoooth tops- no sink holes no frosting- good scent in cooled jars will test burn after they have cured and post results.
  5. Got my wax samples today- will be pouring this weekend- will post results as soon as the have time to cure and burn!
  6. Glad to hear you had good results- could I ask what temp. you poured at? Thanks
  7. I recieved a call from Jason today but was not home. He told my hubby my samples would arrive next week. It so refreshing to get such a prompt response. I think Golden Brands has got a very good employee in this young man!
  8. Thanks Gail- I am glad this works- i prefer to use cotton wicks when I can.
  9. The 6 oz tin has a 2 5/8 " opening and I am using G F soy. Thanks again!
  10. Thanks to everyone for their help- with all these wonderful suggestions I should find something that works!
  11. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I am fairly new to candle making- did not know about the chips- just the blocks and liquid. Thanks for telling me about them!
  12. color. I have a green color block and liqid in: red, Ivory, cofee, yellow. blue, and black. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  13. I have used plain 415 soy from another company and love it. Tried Cargill's C-3 and had so many problems with it! I use a lot of Millcreek's F/O. Now I know that they carry the same wax I have been using I can get it all from one place! Thanks
  14. That's very good to know- will have to give that a try too! Thanks
  15. Thanks for the info- sink holes are the most frustrating thing about soy wax- if you melt the sink holes with a heat gone then major frosting occurs. If this will help I certainly will try it.
  16. Thanks - that sounds easy enough- I will give it try!
  17. I Have heard of poking relief holes before but really don't understand how to do this- can some one clue me in?
  18. I agree with Steve- nice smooth tops except for the sink holes. Correcting the sink holes with a heat gun creates major frosting- got tired of trying to correct these things every time I poured so now I am using what I have left for non colored candles only!
