  1. That fragrance sounds really good and they look great! Thnaks for sharing and a big congratulations!!
  2. I think it still looks great!! Lovin' that awesome green you got there. I think you did just fine, especially for your first big batch.
  3. I've never smelled that scent but I'll bet it smells just great! They sure do look great!!
  4. OK thanks, Dixy! I think I'll try that tomorrow.
  5. Mmmm, I bet that smells delicious! I love your display also with the candle. Nice soap!
  6. Hey, those look great! Strawberry Rhubard sounds like a wonderful summertime soap. I'm going to have try this FO. Do you just add the ground oats at trace? I've never added anything like that but this sounds pretty simple and a great scrubby.
  7. Robin ~ That was a very eloquent response...better than what I'd a posted, that's for sure. The truth is that the more natural the ingredients to begin with (goes in bread-making also ) ... the more healthier and more luxurious product it creates.
  8. Yes, that is something I definitely want to try. Anything citrus, clean cotton, clean ocean smells....I could go on and on and ..... I used KYs Summer Breeze FO in a CP batch of soap the other day and it smells just like Gain laundry detergent...(I'll post pictures in a day or two). I'm not too keen with it in a body bar of soap (actually was about to hurl as I was stirring) but, I know of some family and friends that are coo-koo for this scent and they'll LOVE it. I used 1 oz. PPO and man alive the scent stays on your skin for a LONG time!!
  9. I didn't get to take any pictures of it today but, it's a wee bit firmer, not much firmer though (@ 48 hrs). I now have both of my soap molds tied up with soft soaps. That means no more soap-making for awhile! Geesh, I need more molds (and $$). :tiptoe: Next time I'll do a water discount on soaps that use 80% or more of lard. I'm sure the added sugar to the lye-water helped it stay softer, as well. Thanks again for the replies, maybe this will help someone else in the future.
  10. I want balls just like that one of these days!! I'm liking those colors and that sweet pea soap looks VERY nice!! Thanks for sharing! You're title cracked me up.
  11. That looks really good, I love that! Great job!
  12. Wow! That watermelon is one awesome bar of soap! They both look great to me and I bet they smell wonderful.
  13. That looks very nice. One of these days when I get brave I'm going to try a scrubby bar. You did great on that one!! Yeah, what's it scented?
  14. Wow, I like how your tops turn out! I bet it smells great, they're very pretty.
  15. I like that, lol!! If nothing changes by tomorrow I'll post pics of this molded blob. No, no gelling went on with this one.
  16. Here's the recipe: 35oz. Lard 10oz. Distilled water 4.6 oz. Lye No color No fragrance I DID add 2 tsp. of sugar to the lye water though before I mixed it with the lye.
  17. Yes, they both look great!! You did good!!
  18. Thanks for answering!! Mine is about the consistency of soft lard so I don't think it can safely be unmolded just yet. It's been over 24 hours already. I must've done something wrong. :undecided
  19. I think what you may need is some UV Inhibitor. I also suffered from this on a few of my candles that I left in a sunny window. I add UVI to ALL of my pillars that I make but, for some reason, I thought it was included in the pre-mixed container waxes. Wrong! It's a bit expensive but well worth not losing the color of your candles...(is this even what you're taking about?) Anyway, hope that helps!
  20. Another vote for Peaks Rose Bouquet. DD recieved a red rose for her B-day last week and it smells exactly like that! Everyone that has smelled this one in wax has LOVED it!
  21. I did a search on this and couldn't find the right answer. Just that using 100% lard will take forever to trace-very true, lol. So, with that in mind (olive/lard) will the one's that take forever and a day to trace also take forever to de-mold? I thought I'd be able to cut it today but, it's probably going to be in the mold for a few more days. Thanks!!
